Methodology: The study is hypothetico-deductive, with a descriptive correlational cross-sectional method. The approach is quantitative, as numerical values are assigned to the variables. The methodological design is non-experimental. The type of research is applied. Results: The instrument used for self-care was the "Self-care Capacity Assessment of the Patient," which was adapted from a nursing thesis research. The results show that 60.3% have regular self-care in the dimension of skills in activities of daily living with unhealthy quality of life, which correlates at 10%. 67.2% have regular self-care in the dimension of skills in activities of daily living with unhealthy quality of life, which correlates at 40%. 74.1% have an unhealthy quality of life with regular self-care, which correlates at 33%. 63.8% have an unhealthy quality of life with regular self-care, which correlates at 8%. Regarding the relationship between self-care and quality of life, 70.7% have regular self-care, which correlates at 28%.
