Nursing interventions with good practices for the prevention of pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilator in patients in the intensive care service

Objective: To determine the relationship of nursing interventions with good practices for the prevention of pneumonia associated with mechanical ventilation in patients in the general intensive care service. Synthesis of the Methodology: the study is of hypothetical - deductive analysis, with a quantitative, empirical, analytical and rationalist approach, it is an applied investigation with an observational design, not a cross-sectional experimental one of a correlational level. In the present study, information will be collected through an observation guide in which compliance with biosafety measures and nursing interventions applied by nursing staff for the prevention of ventilator-associated pneumonia will be assessed, the population will be made up of a total of 45 nursing graduates specialized in intensive care, this being a census sample, for the nursing interventions variable an observation guide validated by expert judgment with a reliability of the KR20 coefficient of 0.80, and for the variable good practices for the prevention of pneumonia by mechanical ventilation also validated by expert judgment with a reliability of 0.97 by Alpha - Cronbach, always taking into account the ethical aspects that these investigations imply.
