Association between facial biotype with the inclination of the lower incisor with respect to the mandibular plane with different skeletal patterns in cephalometric radiographs of patients of the odon clinic
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-11-06) Vergara Cosme, Thalía Neyssa; Araujo Farje, Jessica Jazmin
The purpose of this study was to determine the association between facial biotype and the inclination of the lower incisor relative to the mandibular plane with different skeletal patterns in cephalometric radiographs. The sample consisted of 132 cephalometric radiographs (74 females and 58 males) aged between 14 and 40 years. The Ricketts’ Vert index was used to record and evaluate the five cephalometric values that determine the facial biotype, while the lower incisor inclination was measured using the IMPA angle, and the skeletal pattern was assessed using the ANB angle. Data were analyzed using the SPSS 21 statistical package, applying the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) test and Pearson's Chi-square. Results: The most frequent facial biotype was mesofacial, accounting for 39.39% (n=52). The average inclination of the lower incisor was (93.89±7.63), and the most frequent skeletal pattern was Class I, with 43.94% (n=58). The female sex was the most frequent, with 56.06% (n=74), and the most frequent age group was 14 to 22 years, with 50.00% (n=66). It was also found that the greatest inclination of the lower incisor occurred in patients with a dolichofacial biotype (97.84±5.55). A significant difference (P=0.004) was found between skeletal pattern and facial biotype, with mesofacial biotype predominating in Class I, II, and III skeletal patterns. On the other hand, no significant difference was found in the interaction between skeletal pattern and sex, or age, regarding the lower incisor inclination (P>0.05). Conclusion: Patients with a dolichofacial biotype present a greater inclination of the lower incisor than those with mesofacial and brachyfacial biotypes. However, there is no statistically significant difference between skeletal pattern and the inclination of the lower incisor according to sex and age.

Cognitive Level of Parents About Toothpastes and Their Relationship in Prevention and Oral Health
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-05-29) Paiva Guerrero, Kevin; Araujo Farje, Jessica Jazmin
Oral health care in children is important because it allows for optimal dental caries indices and prevention during the stages of permanent tooth eruption. In children, it is the parents who are responsible for their children's overall health care, and the oral cavity is a part of it. Objective: To determine the cognitive level of parents about toothpaste and its relationship to the prevention of oral health in their children from the Juana Marlene Uribe Romero school in the district of San Martín de Porres. Methodology: The approach was quantitative, as numerical data was collected using a Likert scale. The design was basic and non-experimental because the study variables were not manipulated. Surveys were applied to 70 parents to collect data on the cognitive level and prevention, while an observation form based on the ICDAS and IHOS was used for oral health. Results: The results showed that the cognitive level of parents is significantly positively related to prevention (0.003 < 0.05 and r = 0.515, moderate) and oral health (0.002 < 0.05 and r = 0.613, high). Additionally, the cognitive level of parents regarding toothpaste was 31% very good and 40% good. For oral prevention in children, 37% was good and 44% was average, and for children's oral health, 63% was good and 4% was average. Conclusion: There is a significant positive relationship between the cognitive level of parents about toothpaste and the prevention of oral health in children from the Juana Marlene Uribe Romero primary school in San Martín de Porres, 2022, with a moderate relationship in prevention (r = 0.515) and a high relationship in oral health (r = 0.613)

Self-medication in patients with toothache who go to a medical post in the district of Ccarhuahurán, Ayacucho, 2022
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-10-03) Tello Barreto, Sahory Jasmin; Araujo Farje, Jessica Jazmin
The objective of this thesis was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and self-medication in patients with odontalgia who visit a medical post in the district of Ccarhuahuran, Ayacucho, 2022. This study was developed with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, cross-sectional, and descriptive correlational type, applied to a convenience sample of 77 patients. An instrument was used to collect information on the level of knowledge and self-medication, validated by expert judgment and with a high reliability index (KR=0.73). The results showed that 57% of these individuals always self-medicate, while a smaller proportion, almost evenly, self-medicate very rarely (21%) and sometimes (22%). Regarding the level of knowledge, just under half (42%) showed low levels, and only 23% had high levels. The correlation indicated independence between self-medication and the level of knowledge about self-medication (p-value >0.05). In conclusion, having good, regular, or low knowledge about self-medication did not influence the frequency with which individuals from this area self-medicate.
