    Effectiveness of educational intervention to improve knowledge, attitudes and practices on prevention of skin cancer in children and adolescents

    Objective: Systematize the scientific evidence related to the effectiveness of educational interventions on the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of children and adolescents in the prevention of skin cancer. Materials and Methods: Systematic review submitted to the Grade evaluation system allowing identification of the level of evidence of the studies found in the following databases: PubMed, Sciencedirect, and Redalyc. Of the 10 articles analyzed, 40% were systematic reviews, 50% randomized controlled trials, and 10% cohort studies. Results: The analysis of the articles' origin shows that 70% were from the USA, 10% from Mexico, 10% from France, and 10% from Spain. Results: Of the evidence found, 100% (n=10/10) indicates that educational intervention is effective in improving the knowledge, attitudes, and practices of children and adolescents in skin cancer prevention. Conclusions: The educational intervention aimed at the parents of children and adolescents is effective in preventing and reducing the incidence of skin cancer, raising awareness about precautions to take, and encouraging the continuous practice of positive habits. It also demonstrates that the application of educational talks, discussion sessions, and the messages delivered are the most used and applied, in accordance with technological advances. Educational interventions were effective in various settings, such as: clinics, communities, and schools, with emphasis on sun photoprotection measures.
