The present research aimed to determine the association between sociocultural factors and the acceptance of the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination among parents of adolescents aged 11 to 13 at the San Felipe Educational Institution in Comas. Quantitative, non-experimental, cross sectional study with a descriptive-correlational scope was conducted, using a census sampling of 100 parents. To evaluate the hypotheses, the Chi-square test and Cramér’s V coefficient were used, both analyses performed with SPSS software to determine the significance and strength of the correlation. The 39% of parents did not have a clear stance on the HPV vaccine. Social aspects such as age, sex, marital status, education, and economic status did not appear to affect acceptance. In cultural terms, 32% of parents with low cultural levels expressed uncertainty, and only 6% agreed with the vaccine; among those with medium and high cultural levels, acceptance was 10% and 4%, respectively, suggesting a moderate influence on vaccination decisions. Cognitive factors had a weak impact: 28% of parents with a medium cognitive level had no clear stance, and only 7% accepted the vaccine, while 10% of those with a low cognitive level and 3% with a high cognitive level also accepted it. In conclusion, parents' decisions regarding the HPV vaccine are mainly influenced by sociocultural factors. Therefore, it is important to focus on communication strategies to increase acceptance.
