Materials and Methods: This was a quantitative, correlational, non-experimental, and cross-sectional study. The sample consisted of 196 nursing professionals working in the hospital's inpatient areas, selected through non-probability convenience sampling. The instruments used were the Care Skills Inventory and a questionnaire on work conditions. Results: In terms of humanized care ability, 75.15% had medium-level skills, 18.93% had low-level skills, and 5.92% had high-level skills. Regarding work conditions, 80.47% were at a regular level, and 19.53% were at a good level. When correlating both variables, it was found that humanized care ability had a medium level in relation to work conditions, with 61.5% of respondents reporting regular work conditions. In terms of dimensions of humanized care ability, 42% had a high level in knowledge, 71.6% had a low level in values, and 46.2% had a medium level in patience. Conclusion: The work conditions faced by nursing staff at the Daniel Alcides Carrión National Hospital significantly correlate with the level of humanized care ability (p = 0.000 → p < 0.05). Better work conditions are associated with higher levels of humanized care ability.
