The objective of this study was to determine the anxiolytic and antidepressant activity of the essential oil from the seeds of Foeniculum vulgare Mill., 'fennel,' in albino mice. Methodology: The methodology used was experimental, explanatory, quantitative, and applied. The seeds were collected in the province of Huarochirí (Matucana). The essential oil (EO) was extracted by hydrodistillation. The anxiolytic activity was evaluated using the marble burying method in 40 mice at oral doses of 2.5, 5, and 10 mL/kg of EO, compared to diazepam at 10 mg/kg. The antidepressant activity was evaluated using the forced swim test in 40 mice at oral doses of 2.5, 5, and 10 mL/kg of EO, compared to fluoxetine at 20 mg/kg. Results: The essential oil of Foeniculum vulgare showed antidepressant activity at the first two doses and anxiolytic activity at all three doses. Conclusion: The essential oil demonstrated antidepressant activity at doses of 2.5, 5, and 10 mL/kg and showed activity comparable to diazepam.Publicación Acceso abierto Adherencia terapéutica y reacciones adversas en el uso de métodos anticonceptivos hormonales en estudiantes de la carrera de farmacia y bioquímica en una universidad privada. Lima, 2025(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-08-21) Susanibar Yoshisato, Sally Naomy; Villanueva Chávez, Brenda Alessandra; Collantes Llacza, Adela MarleneEn esta investigación se estableció como objetivo: Identificar la relación entre la adherencia terapéutica y reacciones adversas en el uso de métodos anticonceptivos hormonales en estudiantes de la carrera de Farmacia y Bioquímica en una universidad privada, durante el periodo Lima, 2025. Metodología: El estudio es de alcance hipotético – deductivo. Los participantes del estudio constituyen estudiantes de la carrera Farmacia y bioquímica, mayores de 18 años que hayan usado únicamente métodos anticonceptivos hormonales. Se realizó una encuesta de 18 preguntas como técnica de recolección de datos. Resultados: El estudio evidenció que la adherencia terapéutica al uso de métodos anticonceptivos hormonales fue baja (44.7%) en las estudiantes, mientras que un 39.8% presentó moderada adherencia y solo el 15.5% alcanzó una adherencia alta, reflejando una situación preocupante en una población del área de salud. Las reacciones adversas más frecuentes reportadas fueron trastornos menstruales (19.43%), alteraciones del peso (17.8%), síntomas psicológicos como depresión e irritabilidad (16.3%), y cefaleas (15.63%), las cuales influyeron en la continuidad del tratamiento. Conclusión: Los hallazgos descriptivos evidencian una alta frecuencia de eventos adversos clínicamente relevantes y niveles de adherencia subóptimos.Publicación Acceso abierto Análisis de los factores clave asociados al abastecimiento de medicamentos esenciales en las farmacias de la IAFAS del Ejército del Perú, durante el periodo enero – octubre de 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-09-16) Hernández Hernández, Milagros Geraldine; Collantes Llacza, Adela MarleneThe objective of the study was to “analyze the key factors associated with the supply of IAFAS pharmacies of the Peruvian Army at the national level during the period January-October 2024.” The method used was analytical, the approach was quantitative, basic, the design was non experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive. The population and sample consisted of professional pharmaceutical chemists and/or military officers in charge (N=9), and nine IAFAS pharmacies of the Peruvian Army were also taken into account. Two instruments were used: a questionnaire and an observation guide. The results showed that the dimensions of administration (X² = 0.003) and operations (X² = 0.011) were significantly associated with the availability of essential medicines, unlike the dimension of logistics, which obtained an X² value of 0.134. It was therefore concluded that the key factors were significantly associated (X² = 0.047) with the supply of the IAFAS pharmacies of the Peruvian Army at the national level during the period January October 2024.Publicación Acceso abierto Asociación entre interacciones farmacológicas y tipo de profesional en atenciones brindadas a pacientes adultos en Boticas Hollywood-2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2026-02-23) Huaman Uriarte, Katherine Estefany; Rojas Piñan, Maria Elena; Collantes Llacza, Adela MarleneLa revisión de prescripciones realizada en la cadena de boticas Hollywood de Lima durante el periodo del año 2024 permitió evidenciar que las interacciones medicamentosas constituyen un fenómeno frecuente y clínicamente relevante. A través de un estudio descriptivo/observacional/transversal, se analizaron 424 atenciones brindadas a dispensación, las cuales presentaron 398 prescripciones y 26 expendios variados del personal del establecimiento farmacéutico, identificándose un número considerable de combinaciones farmacológicas capaces de modificar la eficacia o seguridad de los tratamientos. Los hallazgos revelaron que 9.0 % de las prescripciones contenían al menos una interacción, sumando un total de 36 IMP. La mayoría correspondió a interacciones farmacodinámicas, reflejando la influencia directa de los fármacos sobre los mismos sistemas fisiológicos. Asimismo, predominó la severidad moderada, lo que indica un riesgo clínico que, aunque no crítico, requiere vigilancia activa para evitar complicaciones. Entre las combinaciones más frecuentes de alto riesgo destacan Teofilina + Ciprofloxacino y Sertralina + Tramadol, ambas asociadas a efectos potencialmente adversos. En conjunto, los resultados muestran un escenario donde la polifarmacia, las comorbilidades y la falta de supervisión farmacéutica incrementan la probabilidad de interacciones. Methodology: A quantitative, deductive, basic, descriptive, and cross-sectional non-experimental approach was used. The technique was a survey, and the instrument was a questionnaire applied to a sample of 353 users. Data were analyzed with descriptive statistics of central tendency and presented in tables and figures. Results: Knowledge levels were: a high level for general diabetes knowledge (45%); a low level for pharmacological treatment (44%); a high level for diet and alternative treatment (57%); a medium level for physical activity (43%); a high level for self-monitoring and medical consultation (44%); a medium level for comorbidity (49%); and a medium level for the consequences of diabetes (42%). Methodology: Based on the hypothetical-deductive method, with a quantitative approach, of a basic type, non-experimental cross-sectional design, and descriptive-correlational level. The study worked with a representative sample of 86 patients. Instruments validated and tested for reliability by expert judges were also evaluated. Results: In the Spearman's Rho statistical test, a value of (rho = 0.326; p < 0.002) was identified between pharmaceutical counseling and medication access satisfaction. Conclusion: It was determined that there is a relationship between pharmaceutical counseling and medication access satisfaction in patients at the Mayo Obstetric Medical Center in the district of Santa Anita – Metropolitan Lima, 2022, with a low positive relationship (rho = 0.326; p < 0.002).Publicación Acceso abierto Consumo de medicamentos antidepresivos y su impacto en la salud en adolescentes atendidos en el Centro de Salud Mental Comunitario Vitaliza Parcona – Ica, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-25) Hume Gallegos, Jacqueline Sadith; Masco Terrones, Javier Alexander; Collantes Llacza, Adela MarleneThe objective was to determine the relationship between the consumption of antidepressant medications and the impact on health in adolescents treated at the Vitaliza Parcona Community Mental Health Center – Ica, 2023. The study was basic, with a hypothetical-deductive method, quantitative approach, non-experimental design, cross-sectional type, and correlational descriptive scope. The sample consisted of 152 adolescents of both sexes, selected through non-probabilistic quota sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire with 30 closed-ended questions.Regarding the results, 81.6% were between 14–17 years old, 55.3% were male, 48% lived only with their mother, and 11.2% with another relative. In terms of depressive symptoms, 84.9% presented a depressed state, 69.1% loss of interest in activities, 41.4% appetite alteration, 76.3% drowsiness, 77% anxiety, 70.4% lack of concentration, 73.7% fatigue, 81.6% low self-esteem, and 36.2% suicidal ideation. Concerning antidepressant use, 59.2% consumed sertraline, 43.4% fluoxetine, and 2% amitriptyline. Regarding health impacts: at the digestive level, 22.4% had intestinal cramps, 19.7% nausea and/or vomiting, 25% dry mouth, and 53.3% increased appetite; at the nervous system level, 39.5% presented dizziness, 38.9% insomnia, 19.7% increased sweating, and 41.4% headaches and nervousness; at the cognitive level, 36.2% presented confusion, 48.7% decreased concentration, 47.4% decreased learning, and 31.6% numbness.The consumption of antidepressant medications was related to health impact in adolescents, with a correlation value of 0.143. Conclusion: The consumption of antidepressant medications was related to health impact in adolescents treated at the Vitaliza Parcona Community Mental Health Center – Ica, 2023, with a very low positive correlation.Publicación Acceso abierto Contenido de polifenoles totales, capacidad antioxidante, composición proximal y digestibilidad proteica de las variedades roja y negra de ñuñas nativas del Perú(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-08-18) Cano Salvador, Geovanny Leonardo; Collantes Llacza, Adela MarlenePhaseolus vulgaris L. is one of the main protein sources in the world, also containing minerals, vitamins, and carbohydrates, making it one of the essential resources in the human diet. The objective of this study was to determine the total polyphenol content, antioxidant capacity, proximate composition, and protein digestibility of the red and black varieties of native Peruvian ñuñas. The total polyphenol content was quantified using the Swaint and Hills method, expressed in mg of gallic acid equivalent per 100 g of sample; antioxidant capacity was measured using the Arnao, Marino, and Cano method, expressed in micromoles of Trolox equivalent per 100 g of sample; proximate composition and digestible protein were measured using the Max Becker method, expressed in grams per 100 g of sample. It was found that the total polyphenol content is 41.87% higher in the red variety than in the black variety; the antioxidant capacity of the black variety was 35.13% higher than the red variety; the proximate composition is similar in both varieties, balanced and suitable for a nutritious diet; and the protein digestibility of the red variety is 2.47% higher than the black variety of native Peruvian ñuñas. It is concluded that ñuña is a functional food due to its nutritional and antioxidant properties, with good digestible protein content and antioxidant activity.Publicación Acceso abierto Cumplimiento de la Norma Técnica de Salud N°122-Minsa/Digemid-v.01 para la elaboración de preparados magistrales en la prescripción de fórmulas magistrales dermatológicas atendidas en la clínica de la piel Jesús María Lima, Perú 2025(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-08-18) Tixi Yarasca, Katty Nataly; Collantes Llacza, Adela MarleneEste trabajo tuvo el objetivo de determinar el “cumplimiento de la Norma Técnica de Salud N°122-Minsa/Digemid-v.01” para la elaboración de preparados magistrales en la prescripción de fórmulas magistrales dermatológicas atendidas en la clínica de la piel Jesús María Lima, Perú 2025”. La metodología fue inductiva con planteamiento cuantitativo, básico, diseño no experimental y corte transversal. Se analizaron un total de 251 prescripciones médicas. Los resultados indicaron que únicamente el (73,3%) de las prescripciones revisadas cumplieron completamente con los 29 indicadores distribuidos en las cinco dimensiones exigidas por la normativa. De las 251 prescripciones evaluadas, el (48,4%) de los incumplimientos estuvo relacionado con los indicadores (edad del paciente) y (nombre del preparado farmacéutico). En la etapa de recepción y validación farmacéutica, se evidenció un cumplimiento del (90,4%). De forma similar, en la dimensión correspondiente al análisis e interpretación farmacéutica, también se observó un cumplimiento del (90,4%). Las dimensiones vinculadas a materias primas y material de acondicionamiento, así como al proceso de elaboración de los preparados farmacéuticos y el acondicionamiento de los preparados alcanzaron un cumplimiento del 100%. Conclusión, el (73,3%) de las prescripciones cumplió con todos los indicadores, reflejando un nivel de cumplimiento considerable, aunque con áreas específicas que requieren atención.Publicación Acceso abierto Efectos adversos asociados al uso de anticonceptivos hormonales en usuarias que acuden a la Farmacia Mundial, en el distrito de Lince, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-09-16) Torvisco Huaraca, Ana María; Collantes Llacza, Adela MarleneThe present investigation aimed to determine the relationship between adverse effects and the use of hormonal contraceptives in users who attend Farmacia Mundial, Lince, using a quantitative approach and a non-experimental design. The sample consisted of 233 users who were administered a questionnaire. Data normality was verified using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, indicating non-normality, which led to the application of non parametric tests. Analysis was performed using the Spearman coefficient. The descriptive results indicated that the vast majority of users presented an average level of both adverse effects (50.2%) and contraceptive use (55.4%). Inferentially, a strong and statistically significant assessment was identified between adverse effects and the use of hormonal contraceptives in general (rho = 0.887, p = 0.000). Similarly, for each type of contraceptive, the correlations were significant: oral (rho = 0.818), external (rho = 0.791), and injectable (rho = 0.845), all with p < 0.01. Thus, it is concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between the level of use of hormonal methods and the occurrence of adverse effects in the study population. High blood pressure, one of the key and predisposing components for coronary heart disease, is preventable with a healthy lifestyle, in addition to going together with an appropriate pharmacotherapeutic adherence, motivating the development of culturally appropriate intervention strategies for its global prevention. Objective: to determine the relationship between lifestyle and pharmacotherapeutic adherence in users with high blood pressure who go to the "D and B" pharmacy in the district of Carabayllo - Lima, 2024. Methodology: the research is basic and hypothetical-deductive in scope. The study participants are a population between 35 and 75 years old, with high blood pressure, taking 150 adults as a sample, who go to the "D and B" pharmacy. A 26-question survey will be conducted as a data collection technique. Results: of 150 participants surveyed, 53% of them maintain unhealthy habits, another 40% follow a good lifestyle and 7% maintain a regular lifestyle. On the other hand, 53% of participants have a poor therapeutic adherence, while 46% show good adherence and 1% indicate poor adherence. In addition, the study variables are significantly correlated (p < 0.01). Conclusion: there is a relationship between lifestyle and pharmacotherapeutic adherence in users with arterial hypertension.Publicación Acceso abierto Estudio de utilización, demanda y costo de tratamientos farmacológicos dispensados en Botica Avi Pharma S.A.C. de la Victoria durante el 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-05-19) Gómez Quispe, Jakely; Payano Chihuan, Karina Elvira; Collantes Llacza, Adela MarleneObjetivo: Establecer en atenciones brindadas a usuarios del establecimiento farmacéutico, características a través de un análisis de estudio de utilización de sus medicaciones. Método: El uso del enfoque cuantitativo, adicionado a la técnica de tipo descriptivo, retrospectivo y observacional. Analizamos 291 atenciones de usuarios de la botica seleccionada en el distrito de la Victoria. Resultados: Según análisis establecido se tiene una frecuencia de atenciones de 25.8 % con prescripción médica, de usuarios con una edad promediada en 49.7 años y en su mayoría del sexo femenino 60.1 %. Las especialidades médicas de las prescripciones atendidas destacan de medicina general 66.7 % seguida de neumología 13.3 % y medicina interna 6.7 %. Los medicamentos según su ATC se destacan en atención por antiinflamatorios 37.04 % y 45.3 % para las atenciones sin y con prescripción médica; antibacterianos 31.5 % y 37.3 %; preparados para tos y resfríos solo sin prescripción 9.3 %, destacamos asimismo al ibuprofeno como el más demandado 52.9 % y azitromicina 12.4 %; lo concerniente a diferencias de precios se puede apreciar hasta más del 100 % entre sector público y privado. Conclusión: El estudio realizado determinó que existe una ratio de automedicación (74.2 %) que se destaca frente a una práctica clínica habitual en lo que corresponde a consumo de medicamentos.Publicación Acceso abierto Factores asociados a la adherencia al tratamiento antibiótico y calidad de vida en adultos atendidos en la botica Biofarma, San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima, 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-25) Díaz Fernández, Lelis; Príncipe Muñoz, María Isadora; Collantes Llacza, Adela MarleneThe objective of this study was to establish how factors associated with adherence to antibiotic treatment relate to the quality of life of adults treated at the Biofarma pharmacy in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima. Method: Using a hypothetical-deductive study method, with a quantitative approach and a descriptive-correlational level under a non-experimental design, a questionnaire was applied to measure the study variables among 183 outpatients attended at a pharmaceutical care center. Results: It was found that 79.78% of patients did not adhere to their antibiotic treatment. Among those surveyed, 56.83% (104/183) exhibited moderately favorable factors associated with adherence to antibiotic treatment, 42.08% (77/183) exhibited favorable factors, and 1.09% (2/183) exhibited moderately unfavorable factors. Furthermore, 74.32% (136/183) of adult patients demonstrated a high level of quality of life, 24.59% (45/183) a moderately high level, and 1.09% (2/183) a moderately low level. Finally, a direct relationship was found between the factors associated with adherence to antibiotic treatment and quality of life.Publicación Acceso abierto Factores asociados a la adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en pacientes con psoriasis atendidos en la farmacia “DERMA-A” en el distrito de Jesús María – 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-10-07) Sánchez Chuquilin, Alicia Clementina; Ventura Valdera, Flor Doraliza; Collantes Llacza, Adela MarleneObjective: The purpose of this research study is to determine how the factors involved in pharmacological treatment are related to adherence in patients with psoriasis treated at the “DERMA A” pharmacy in the district of Jesús María, Lima, 2021. Methodology: Following the hypothetical-deductive research method, with a quantitative approach, applied type, and non-experimental design, a sample of 180 psoriasis patients treated at the “DERMA A” pharmacy were selected. Instruments were applied to measure the factors associated with pharmacological treatment using a self-adapted questionnaire, and adherence levels to the treatment using the 8-item Morisky-Green-Levine Test. Results: A significant inverse relationship was found between the factors involved in pharmacological treatment and adherence in psoriasis patients (p=0.000; r=-0.581). Conclusion: It was concluded that the lower the presence of extrinsic factors involved in pharmacological treatment, the higher the level of adherence; whereas, the higher the presence of intrinsic patient factors, the higher their level of adherence to psoriasis treatment.Publicación Acceso abierto Factores asociados a la hiperplasia prostática benigna en personas que acuden a la botica Mifarma del distrito de El Agustino, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-29) Quiñonez Chavez, Jesus Valentin; Collantes Llacza, Adela MarleneBenign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH) is a disease related to prostate cancer. Objective: To determine the factors associated with benign prostatic hyperplasia in individuals who attend the Mifarma pharmacy in the district of El Agustino, 2023. Method and Design: Deductive method, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive design. The population consisted of male individuals who attended the Mifarma pharmacy in the district of El Agustino. Results: The age group with the highest percentage was 52 years and older, representing 71% (176). The highest proportion of unhealthy food consumption represented 83.1% (206). Occasional consumption of fruits and vegetables was reported by 75.4% (187). Lack of physical exercise was found in 81.9% (203). The highest proportion was patients diagnosed with obesity, representing 85.5% (212). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between pathological factors and benign prostatic hyperplasia in individuals attending the Mifarma pharmacy in the district of El Agustino (p<0.05), while no significant association was found with sociodemographic factors or lifestyle habits.Publicación Acceso abierto Factores asociados a reacciones adversas de la vacuna Pfizer-BioNTech tercera dosis contra la COVID-19 administrada a personas de tercera edad en el asentamiento humano Aeropuerto. Callao 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-21) Espinoza Moreno, Vanessa Janeth; Gozme Ramos, Stefany; Collantes Llacza, Adela MarleneThe objective of this research was to analyze the factors associated with adverse reactions to the Pfizer BioNTech third dose COVID-19 vaccine administered to elderly individuals in the Aeropuerto Human Settlement. Regarding adverse factors, three dimensions were considered, and for adverse reactions, one dimension was analyzed. The research method was hypothetical-deductive, with a quantitative approach and a non-experimental, observational, cross-sectional design. A written survey on factors associated with adverse reactions was applied to a sample of 197 elderly individuals. Data processing was carried out using the SPSS 25 statistical software, and graphs and tables were prepared using Excel 2016. Results: The study found that associated factors are related to adverse reactions. The dimensions studied, such as age, sex, and concomitant diseases, show a significant relationship with adverse reactions. A quantitative approach was used, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The sample included 390 sildenafil users, selected using multi-stage probability sampling. The results indicated that marital status and duration of consumption are related to adverse reactions, with significance in the chi-square test (0.007 and 0.022) and a small correlation strength (Cramer's V). A sample of 385 men participated in a questionnaire about risk factors and self-medication with sildenafil, using a survey as the technique. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS Version 25.0, and the Chi-square independence test was applied with a 5% significance level. Results: Regarding the analysis of the relationship between risk factors and the level of knowledge, the indicators showed significance (p-value = 0.000). Similarly, a relationship was found between risk factors and the frequency of use dimension (p-value = 0.000). For the relationship between self-medication with sildenafil and social factors, significance was observed in its indicators (p-value = 0.000). For the relationship between self-medication with sildenafil and economic factors, significance was also observed in its indicators (p-value = 0.000). The method used was the hypothetical-deductive, cross-sectional method. and descriptive-correlational level. The population and sample was census made up of 82 patients diagnosed with pulmonary tuberculosis who attended the Health Center to receive pharmacological treatment. Two techniques were applied (survey and documentary analysis) and two instruments were used for data collection, the FAMILY APGAR questionnaire – modified and the observational sheet adapted to the MORISKY GREEN TEST (MMAS-8). To measure the reliability of the instruments, Cronbach's alpha (0.814) was applied. In the results, the statistical test applied was the Chi-square statistic; In family functionality, 39% (N=32) were found to be families with mild dysfunction, 31.7% (N=26) were families with good functionality; In therapeutic adherence, 56.1 (N=46) were non-adherent. There was no significant association in the family adaptation dimension (p=0.328). There was an association in the dimensions family participation (p=0.004) and family resource (p=0.000). Methodology: The research followed a deductive method with a quantitative approach, basic, non-experimental, descriptive, and cross-sectional. The sampling was simple random probabilistic and included 317 prescriptions. An instrument with five sections was used: patient data with five indicators, medication data with seven indicators, prescriber data with four indicators, type of interaction with three indicators, and interaction category with three indicators. Results: Regarding prescription errors, patient allergies were omitted in 62.5% (198) of cases. In medication data, the pharmacological concentration was omitted in 25.2% (80) of cases. In prescriber data, the omission of the physician's seal had a minimal percentage of 2.8% (9). These percentages were higher compared to other indicators. Regarding drug interactions, 67.8% (924) were pharmacokinetic interactions, and 74.5% (1016) were category D interactions, both with high percentages compared to other indicators. Conclusion: The highest percentage of prescription errors was the omission of allergies, which could lead to severe and irreversible harm when medications are consumed. Additionally, the evaluated prescriptions showed a high percentage of drug interactions.
