    The present study aimed to determine the relationship between occupational risk and job performance among nursing staff in the Emergency Department of the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital, Lima–Peru, in 2021. The research was conducted using a quantitative, applied approach, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational design. The population consisted of 254 nursing professionals and technicians, from which a sample of 120 participants was selected through non-probabilistic convenience sampling. Data collection was carried out using the survey technique, applying validated and reliable questionnaires to measure the variables occupational risk (biological, chemical, and ergonomic) and job performance (productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency). Statistical analysis was performed using Spearman’s rho correlation coefficient. The results showed a statistically significant relationship between occupational risk and job performance among nursing staff (p<0.05). Likewise, significant relationships were found between biological, chemical, and ergonomic risks and job performance. These findings confirm that exposure to occupational risks directly influences the performance of nursing personnel. It is concluded that strengthening occupational risk prevention strategies and promoting safe working conditions are necessary to improve job performance and the quality of care in emergency services.
