To identify the model that considers the skills for learning and critical reading as factors that influence the investigative competencies of the students of the students of a private university in Lima 2022, was the purpose of this work. The research presents a quantitative, non-experimental approach and its design corresponds to a causal correlational investigation. It was carried out in a census-type population of all students in the last cycle of the Medicine career. data collection was carried out through the use of instruments already validated, confirming their high reliability. The technique used was the survey and questionnaire instruments. The binary logistic regression test was used for data processing. As a result, the obtained model confirms the incidence of the independent variables in the achievement of investigative competences, also the result of R2 shows that 17.4% of the achievement of investigative competences is explained by the obtained model; This result is consistent with the 62.3% probability of achievement of the investigative competencies if the model is used following the classification table, finally, it is possible to conclude that the model is pertinent to consider the two independent variables as protection factors for the achievement of investigative competencies.
