    Effectiveness of an educational program to improve quality of life in elderly diabetic patients

    Objective: Analyze and systematize the evidence on the Effectiveness of the Educational Program to improve the quality of life in older diabetic adults. Materials and methods: Systematic Review, clinical trial and meta-analysis, which synthesizes the results of multiple primary investigations. In the final selection, 10 articles were chosen where 10% are systematic reviews, 20% are clinical trials, and 70% are experimental studies, having a high quality of evidence. 100% of the studies carried out come from Korea, Canada and Germany, Cuba, Thailand and Spain. Results: In the evidence found, 90% (n=9/10) demonstrate effectiveness of educational programs and 10% (n=1/10) there was limited evidence to indicate the effectiveness of educational programs. Conclusions: The effectiveness of educational programs to improve the quality of life of diabetic older adults was evidenced. Effectiveness was shown in terms of the development of participatory techniques based on group dynamics, talks and workshops, improving the quality of life of diabetic older adults.
