Publicación Acceso abierto Determinación de una técnica analítica por cromatografía en capa fina para identificación de Barbitúricos y Fenotiazinas en muestra biológica (orina)(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-09-23) Suarez Egusquiza, Beatriz Mery; Calle López, Mary Cruz; López Parra, Ronal RosendoThe present research work entitled "Determination of an analytical technique by thin layer chromatography for the identification of barbiturates and phenothiazines in a biological sample (urine)", aims to determine an analytical technique by thin layer chromatography (TLC) for the identification of barbiturates and phenothiazines. The methodology used was analytical, descriptive and observational, using 30 biological urine fluids as samples. The results report that the phenothiazine was identified using the iodine platinate and Dragendorff revealing reagents, giving a violet-blue color, accentuated by sprinkling 10% hydrochloric acid, which indicates a positive reaction. Likewise, the revealing reagents formaldehyde plus sulfuric acid and the mercury revealing reagent gave a positive result for barbiturates, through the appearance of a whitish color. Conclusions: An analytical technique using thin layer chromatography was identified to identify phenothiazines and barbiturates in biological urine samples.Publicación Acceso abierto Determinación del grado de eliminación del etanol en muestras biológicas (sangre) en personas adultas de Mangomarca – San Juan de Lurigancho. Mayo 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-05-17) Bautista Huamaní, Alexi Arthur; Damian Inga, Elvis Cesar; López Parra, Ronal RosendoThe research, titled "Rate of Ethanol Elimination in Biological Samples (Blood) in Adults from Mangomarca – San Juan de Lurigancho, May 2018," had the objective of determining the rate of ethanol elimination in biological samples (blood). Methodology: A descriptive, experimental, and cross-sectional study was conducted. Blood samples were collected in heparin vials from 36 adults from Mangomarca, SJL. The study began with the ingestion of 1260 mL of beer over 20 minutes. After ingestion was completed, samples were taken every 30, 45, 60, and 75 minutes. The method used was the modified Shefftell and UV-Vis Spectrophotometry. Results: Variability was found between genders and among age groups. The average elimination rate for females was 0.186 g/L/hour, while for males it was 0.159 g/L/hour. The 18-30 year age group reported an elimination rate of 0.169 g/L/hour, the 31-50 year age group reported 0.178 g/L/hour, and the over-50 age group had an elimination rate of 0.167 g/L/hour. Conclusions: There is variability in the rate of ethanol elimination in blood biological samples. The average ethyl alcohol elimination rate in the study population was 0.172 g/L. For women, it was 0.186 g/L, and for men, it was 0.159 g/L. The age group with the highest elimination rate was 31–50 years old.Publicación Acceso abierto Estudio del extracto etanólico de los rizomas de Curcuma longa L. “Cúrcuma” y su actividad antioxidante(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-03-08) Aliaga Palomares, Ana María; Muñoz Suárez, Liliana Sofía; López Parra, Ronal RosendoObjective: To determine the phytoconstituents present in the rhizome of Curcuma longa L. “turmeric” and its antioxidant activity. Materials and Methods: The study was quasi-experimental, descriptive, and cross-sectional. The study species was collected in the district of Kimbiri, Province of La Convención, Cusco. An ethanolic extraction of the dried turmeric rhizomes was carried out in order to perform the qualitative phytochemical analysis, following the methodology proposed by Olga Lock de Ugaz, to determine the phytoconstituents. Dilutions of the dry extract were prepared at concentrations of 5%, 10%, and 20%. Antioxidant activity was evaluated using the DPPH assay (1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl), and the absorption band was measured at 517 nm with a UV-Visible spectrophotometer. These results were analyzed with the statistical software IBM SPSS Statistics version 24.0 and Microsoft Excel 2016. Results: The presence of secondary metabolites such as phenolic compounds, flavonoids, quinones, and coumarins was determined. The antioxidant activity results are presented as the mean inhibition percentage of the ethanolic extract at 5%, 10%, and 20%, which were 81.552%, 82.077%, and 83.742%, respectively, compared with the standard sample of Vitamin C, which showed means corresponding to 5%, 10%, and 20% of 96.258%, 93.313%, and 84.110%, respectively. Conclusion: It was determined that the ethanolic extract of the rhizomes of Curcuma longa L. “turmeric” exhibits antioxidant activity comparable to that of Vitamin C and may be considered a source of natural antioxidants. This activity is attributed to the presence of phenolic compounds and flavonoids.Publicación Acceso abierto Grado de satisfacción de los usuarios con la atención brindada en boticas y farmacias del distrito de Huaycán. Febrero–abril 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-09-19) Pacahuala Espinoza, Madison Melissa; López Parra, Ronal RosendoThis research aimed to determine the degree of user satisfaction with the services provided in drugstores and pharmacies in the district of Huaycán, from February to April 2018. The methodology corresponded to a descriptive, non-experimental, correlational, cross-sectional study, measured using the Likert scale, a psychometric tool commonly employed to assess levels of satisfaction among users or clients. The sample consisted of 374 users over 18 years of age who attended one of the eleven drugstores and pharmacies in Huaycán and purchased medicines with or without a medical prescription. Data collection was carried out through a survey of 20 questions scored on a five-point Likert scale: 1 = very poor, 2 = poor, 3 = fair, 4 = good, and 5 = excellent. Of the total participants, 29.41% were male and 70.59% female. Results and conclusions indicate that 57.44% of users rated their level of satisfaction with the drugstores and pharmacies located on Av. 15 de Julio in Huaycán as good or excellent.Publicación Acceso abierto Influencia de la publicidad y propaganda en el consumo de productos farmacéuticos de venta libre (OTC) en el distrito de San Martín de Porres. Periodo junio 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-11-21) Juica Paucar, Pablo Rodolfo; Valeriano Romero, Vanessa Cristina; López Parra, Ronal RosendoInfluence of Advertising and Promotion on the Consumption of Over-the-Counter (OTC) Pharmaceutical Products in San Martín de Porres, June 2018 Objective: To determine the degree of influence of advertising and promotion on the consumption of OTC pharmaceutical products. Methodology: A descriptive, observational, cross-sectional study was conducted with a sample of 244 users, grouped by age (18–25, 26–40, 41–60, and ≥60 years) and gender (male/female). Results: The degree of influence of advertising and promotion on the purchase of OTC medicines was high; 61.89% reported being influenced, while 38.11% indicated no influence. The main types of advertising and promotion influencing consumption were: television (63.93%), posters (14.75%), radio (14.35%), magazines (0.81%), and others (6.15%). Regarding knowledge of adverse effects, 33.20% of participants were aware, whereas 66.80% were not. The most frequently consumed medicines were Apronax (30.33%), Panadol (11.48%), Panadol Antigripal (9.02%), and Dolocordralán (8.61%). The population rated pharmaceutical advertising as excellent/good (25.82%), fair (64.75%), poor (4.10%), and very poor (0.82%). Male participants predominated (56.56%) compared to females (43.44%). Conclusions: The influence of pharmaceutical advertising and promotion on users’ purchasing decisions of OTC products is high, with television exerting the greatest impact. Agosto–octubre 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-02-28) Palomino Rojas, Gianmarco; López Parra, Ronal RosendoInfluence of Pharmaceutical Marketing on Medication Consumption among Pharmacy and Drugstore Users in the District of Chorrillos, August–October 2018 Objective: To determine the level of influence of pharmaceutical marketing on the consumption of medications among the population of Chorrillos. Methodology: Descriptive, cross-sectional, and observational study. Results: Of the total respondents, 94.44% (136 users) reported that pharmaceutical marketing significantly influences their medication consumption, 1.39% (2 users) indicated it does not, and 4.17% (6 users) reported that it sometimes influences them. The therapeutic group with the highest consumption due to pharmaceutical marketing was analgesics and anti-inflammatory drugs (Panadol, Dolocordralan, Apronax), representing 38.9% (56 users). The most consumed medications were Panadol (16.7%, 24 users), followed by Dolocordralan (13.2%, 19 users), Nastizol (12.5%, 18 users), Tapsyn Migraine (10.4%, 15 users), Panadol Cold & Flu (9.7%, 14 users), Apronax and Hepabionta (9% each, 13 users), and Hisaler (8.3%, 12 users). Other medications accounted for 11.1% (16 users), totaling 144 medications consumed influenced by pharmaceutical marketing. Conclusion: Pharmaceutical marketing significantly influences medication consumption.Publicación Acceso abierto Nivel de automedicación en los pobladores de 20 a 50 años de edad del pueblo joven Néstor Gambeta Baja – Callao, octubre 2017(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-11) Cárdenas Pacheco, Giovana; Peralta Sánchez, Tania Maritza; López Parra, Ronal RosendoOur research work, titled “Level of Self-Medication in Residents Aged 20 to 50 Years of Pueblo Joven Néstor Gambeta Baja – Callao, October 2017,” aimed to evaluate the level of self-medication and to identify the factors influencing self-medication among residents aged 20 to 50 years of Pueblo Joven Néstor Gambeta Baja – Callao, October 2017. Methodology: This research was descriptive, observational, non-experimental, and cross-sectional, using a Likert scale. The study sample consisted of 178 residents aged 20 to 50 years who purchased medications without a prescription in different pharmaceutical establishments (pharmacies and drugstores) in Pueblo Joven Néstor Gambeta Baja. Data collection was conducted through a questionnaire, which was designed and validated for this purpose. Results: The highest level of self-medication by age group was observed in residents aged 46–50 years, with 37.08% (66). Regarding educational level, 53.93% (96) had completed secondary education. A high level of self-medication was observed in females, accounting for 66.85% (119). Additionally, 74.72% (133) of participants did not have medical insurance, with lack of time identified as the main factor for self-medication (40.45%, 72). The main reasons for self-medication were headache (19.10%, 34), high blood pressure problems (16.85%, 30), and urinary tract infection issues (14.61%). The pharmacological groups most frequently self-administered were analgesics (24.16%, 43), anti-inflammatories (11.80%, 21), and antibiotics (10.06%, 18). The last instance of self-medication was often based on the recommendation of the pharmacy, accounting for 43.27% (77). Conclusion: The study found a high level of self-medication among the population of Néstor Gambeta Baja – Callao, with lack of time being a key contributing factor. It is recommended to promote educational talks to the population to encourage proper medication use and reduce the risks associated with consuming medications without a prescription.
