    Relación entre conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas del uso de anticonceptivos de emergencia en mujeres en edad fértil en botica “Mi Doctor” en Los Olivos, enero–abril 2018

    Objective: To contrast the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding the use of emergency contraceptives among women of childbearing age who attend the pharmacy “Mi Doctor” in Los Olivos, from January to April 2018. Methodology: This study was observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional. The population consisted of women who attended the pharmacy “Mi Doctor,” Los Olivos, from January to April 2018. The sample was probabilistic (201 women). A survey of 29 closed-ended questions was conducted, and data were analyzed with Excel 2016 and SPSS 22. The variables were correlated using Spearman’s rho. Results: The average age was 30 years, with a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 45. Of the participants, 70.1% had higher education and 29.9% secondary education. Knowledge of emergency contraceptives was 4.8 low, practices were inadequate, and positive attitudes were reported in 86.1% (173). There was a low positive correlation between knowledge and practices, a low negative correlation between knowledge and attitudes, and no relationship between practices and attitudes. Conclusions: It was concluded that there is a low positive correlation between knowledge and practices, a low negative correlation between knowledge and attitudes, and no relationship between attitudes and practices regarding the use of emergency contraceptives. Recommendation: Analytical studies with larger populations are recommended.
