Objective: To contrast the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and practices regarding the use of emergency contraceptives among women of childbearing age who attend the pharmacy “Mi Doctor” in Los Olivos, from January to April 2018. Methodology: This study was observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional. The population consisted of women who attended the pharmacy “Mi Doctor,” Los Olivos, from January to April 2018. The sample was probabilistic (201 women). A survey of 29 closed-ended questions was conducted, and data were analyzed with Excel 2016 and SPSS 22. The variables were correlated using Spearman’s rho. Results: The average age was 30 years, with a minimum of 20 and a maximum of 45. Of the participants, 70.1% had higher education and 29.9% secondary education. Knowledge of emergency contraceptives was 4.8 low, practices were inadequate, and positive attitudes were reported in 86.1% (173). There was a low positive correlation between knowledge and practices, a low negative correlation between knowledge and attitudes, and no relationship between practices and attitudes. Conclusions: It was concluded that there is a low positive correlation between knowledge and practices, a low negative correlation between knowledge and attitudes, and no relationship between attitudes and practices regarding the use of emergency contraceptives. Recommendation: Analytical studies with larger populations are recommended.
Resumen
Objetivo: Contrastar la relación entre los conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas del uso de anticonceptivos de emergencia en las mujeres en edad fértil que acuden a la botica “Mi Doctor” Los Olivos, Enero a Abril 2018. Metodología: Este estudio fue observacional, descriptivo, de corte transversal. La población mujeres que acudieron a la botica“Mi Doctor”, Los Olivos, Enero a abril del año 2018. La muestra fue de tipo probabilística (201 mujeres). Se realizó una encuesta de 29 preguntas cerradas, analizados con Excel 2016 y SPSS 22. Las variables se correlacionaron con la r de Spearman. Resultados: La edad promedio 30 años, mínima 20 y máxima 45. El 70,1% , superior y 29,9% secundario, conocimiento del anticonceptivos de emergencia 4,8 bajo, practicas inadecuadas y actitud positivas 86,1% (173),existe correlación positiva baja conocimiento y prácticas, correlación conocimientos y actitudes negativa baja y no existe relación entre prácticas y actitudes. Conclusiones: se concluyó existe correlación positiva baja entre los conocimientos y prácticas, conocimiento y las actitudes tienen una correlación negativa baja, no hay relación entre actitudes y prácticas del uso de anticonceptivos de emergencia. Recomendación: Se recomienda estudios analíticos de mayor población
