Publicación Acceso abierto Actividad anti-tirosinasa y efecto fotoprotector del extracto etanólico del tegumento de dos variedades de Phaseolus vulgaris L., ñuña roja y negra(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-12-01) Mera Santa Cruz, Ermitanio; Papuico Sanchez, Liliana Eulalia; Chávez Flores, Juana ElviraThe objective of this study was to determine the anti-tyrosinase activity and evaluate the photoprotective effect of the ethanolic extract from the tegument of two varieties of Phaseolus vulgaris L., red and black 'ñuña'. Methodology: Anti-tyrosinase activity was determined with the thin-layer chromatographic method using a 0.05% Kojic acid standard. For the photoprotective effect, 35 female Mus musculus Balb/C53 strain mice, seven weeks old, were divided into five experimental groups. UV-C radiation was applied to their backs for 30 minutes once a day for one month. Acute photodamage was evaluated using the Draize scale, and photoaging was evaluated using the Glogau scale. Results: Secondary metabolites such as polyphenols and flavonoids were found. The extract was not toxic in mice via oral and dermal administration at a limit dose of 5000 mg/kg. It has anti-tyrosinase activity, and when applied in a 5% gel, the red variety showed a greater effect. It also has a photoprotective effect in mice subjected to UVC radiation. Conclusion: The ethanolic extract from the tegument of the black 'ñuña' at 5% in gel has a photoprotective effect.
