(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-11-04) Rodríguez Atalaya, Carmen Rosa; Valdera Zumaeta, Mirtha Lizzet; Millones Gómez, Segundo Germán
Objective: Systematically analyze the evidence regarding the perception of the central sterilization staff about the need for continuous education to improve processes. Methodology: Ten scientific articles related to continuous education to improve processes in the central sterilization were systematically reviewed and collected from the PubMed, Medline, Scielo, LILACS, and Cochrane Library databases. These were analyzed according to the GRADE scale to determine the quality of the evidence and the strength of the recommendation. Results: The perception of continuous education reveals a lack of knowledge about it. The staff expresses that it is important, necessary, contributes to greater visibility and recognition, creates opportunities for change, improves potential and job satisfaction, although it cannot be applied permanently because it is not institutionalized. It has been shown to be effective for skill development, reducing errors, and continuous improvement in the work process. Conclusions: Out of the total of 10 articles reviewed, all 10 conclude that there is a need for continuous education in the central sterilization unit to improve processes.
