Ítem Acceso abierto Effects of an early stimulation program on motor and cognitive development in children under 5 years old(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-10-25) Salas Mujica, Maria Anggela; Montesinos Altamirano, Danae Sthefany; Cárdenas de Fernández, María HildaObjective: To systematize the evidence on the effects of an early stimulation program on motor and cognitive development in children under 5 years of age. Material and Methods: Systematic Reviews are an observational and retrospective research design, which synthesizes the results of research. They are an essential part of Evidence-Based Nursing because of the methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions about clinical practice. The following databases were used: Journal, Scielo, Cochrane Plus, Enfer Index, Medplus, Pub Med. Results: 10 articles were selected and we found that 40% were from Peru, 10% from Iran, 10% from Colombia, 10% from Canada, 10% from Brazil, 10% from Norway, and 10% from China. The reviewed studies are based on systematic reviews with 10%, RCTs with 40%, quasi-experimental studies with 20% and experimental studies with 30%. Conclusions: Health entities should protocolize the guidelines for early stimulation care in children, to create strategies with positive evidence in the adequate use of early stimulation techniques by health personnel in the care of healthy children and to identify those who are at risk of psychomotor development.
