Ítem Acceso abierto Critical review: Efficacy of exercise in blood pressure control in adults.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-06-16) Olano Yalta, Anthonny Micheel; León Cáceres, Johanna del CarmenIt has been described that not only pharmacological treatment helps in the control of blood pressure, but also physical activity, especially aerobic exercises, which are one of the main effective treatments for regulating and controlling hypertension. This secondary research, titled Critical Review: Effectiveness of Exercise in Blood Pressure Control in Adults, aimed to identify whether exercises are effective in controlling blood pressure in adults. The methodology used was Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE). The information search was conducted in PUBMED and SCIENCE DIRECT, finding 36 articles, with 11 selected for critical evaluation using the CASPE tool. Finally, the randomized clinical trial titled Long-term home-based exercise is effective to reduce blood pressure in low-income Brazilian hypertensive patients: A controlled trial was chosen, which has an AI level of evidence and a strong recommendation grade, according to the researcher's expertise. The critical comment concluded that physical activity interventions, including low to moderate intensity walking and stretching exercises, are the only way to improve the patient's quality of life.
