Publicación Acceso abierto El estrés académico relacionado al consumo de psicoestimulantes lícitos en los estudiantes de 2do hasta 5to del nivel secundario de la I.E.P “San José”, Lima 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-06-10) Pereda Pérez, Sandra Gianina; Ramos Jaco, Antonio GuillermoThis study was developed with the purpose of identifying if there is any correlation between the stress experienced in the academic setting and the use of legal psycho-stimulants in students from 8th to 11th grade (2nd to 5th year of secondary level) of the private school “San José”. A research methodology based on the hypothetical-deductive model was employed, using a quantitative approach and a descriptive observational design. The information collected from a group of 160 students was analyzed with SPSS software version 27.0. The diagrams and tables were created in the Excel version 2021 program. It was determined that, for the students, coffee represents the most used legal psycho stimulant, while methylphenidate and modafinil are less consumed. 75% were between 16 and 17 years old, and the remaining 25% were between 13 and 15 years old; the majority were male (63.8%). 88.1% stated that there were complicated subjects that caused them tension and stress, and 61.3% consumed psycho-stimulants that helped them study. 15% indicated that they sometimes experienced anxiety, and a similar number experienced headaches as a consequence of psycho-stimulant consumption. Finally, in the subjective perception dimension, only 10.6% agreed that there was a reduction in fatigue when consuming psycho-stimulants (6.9% Almost always + 3.8% always), and a similar total agreed that there was a reduction in stress when consuming psycho-stimulants (7.5% Almost always + 3.1% always). Finally, it was determined that the consumption of legal psycho-stimulants is related to the academic stress experienced by high school students from 8th to 11th grade (second to fifth year of secondary level), since the correlation coefficient (Rho=0.515) is of medium magnitude or intensity and of a direct or positive type.
