Ítem Acceso abierto Efectiveness of an ergonomic program in the prevention of musculoskeletal diseases in nursing staff.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-11-24) Reyes Alfaro, Lisseth Elenid; Gamarra Bustillos, CarlosObjective: Analyze the evidence on the effectiveness of an ergonomics program in the prevention of musculoskeletal diseases in nursing staff. Material and Methods: Systematic and retrospective review of a quantitative type, subject to critical selection, using the Grade assessment system to identify the level of evidence, found in the following databases: PubMed, Sciencedirect, Scielo, Elsevier. Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 40% (n= 4/10) are randomized clinical trials, 30% (n= 3/10) are quasi-experimental, and 30% (n= 3/10) are descriptive studies. They come from the countries of the United States (20%), Germany, Ireland, Iran, Italy, Turkey, Canada, Israel, and China (10% each). Results: Additionally, of the evidence found, 100% (n=10/10) indicate that ergonomics programs reduce the most significant symptoms found in nursing staff in the short term, such as cervical pain, lumbar pain, lower limb pain, and numbness in the wrists. Conclusion: It is concluded that all the studies reviewed in this paper indicate that the implementation of an ergonomics program involving different exercises for the prevention of musculoskeletal diseases is necessary, adapting them according to the work area of the nursing staff.
