    Valoración nutricional y su relación con la mortalidad en pacientes críticos ingresados en la uci del Hospital Emergencia Ate Vitarte, 2022

    The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between nutritional assessment according to the CONUT scale and mortality in critically ill patients admitted to the ICU of Hospital Emergencia Ate Vitarte during the 2022 period. It was an observational, retrospective, cross-sectional, and descriptive-correlational study. Medical records of critically ill patients in the Intensive Care Unit were studied, and data were collected using an instrument (data collection form) validated by expert judgment and opinion. Based on the results, 69 critically ill patients who met the inclusion criteria were included in the study; 59% (41/69) were female and 52,2% (36/69) were adults (ages between 30 and 59 years). The qualitative assessment of BMI determined that 33,3% (23/69) were obese, and according to the CONUT scale, the parameters of malnutrition; normal, mild, moderate, and severe in critically ill patients represented; 4,3%, 8,7%, 39,1%, and 47,8%, respectively. In conclusion, 47,8% (n=33) of the critically ill patients admitted to the ICU of Hospital Emergencia Ate Vitarte presented a severe malnutrition nutritional assessment on the CONUT scale, and of these, 51,5% (n=17) died, finding a significant correlation between both variables (Cramer's V=0,520).
