    effectiveness of virtual reality glasses in the dental fear of children aged 6 to 10 years in dental treatment in a private clinic, lima 2023

    Objective: To determine the effectiveness of virtual reality glasses in dental fear in children aged 6 to 10 years undergoing dental treatments at the Sonrisa Segura Clinic, Los Olivos - Lima, 2023. The study method was hypothetical, with a quantitative approach and basic, prospective, and cross-sectional design; it was a quasi-experimental experimental design. The population consisted of 150 children aged 6 to 10 years who visited the Sonrisa Segura Clinic, and the sample included 50 children who met the selection criteria. The sample was divided into a control group [n=25] and an experimental group [n=25]. Results: In the control group, the fear evaluation before and after receiving dental treatment showed mostly low fear (76%) before and high fear (72%) after the treatment, respectively. In the experimental group, the fear evaluation before and after receiving dental treatment showed mostly high fear (76%) before and low fear (96%) after the treatment, respectively. Additionally, inferential analysis confirmed that the experimental group had a higher average rank than the control group, with a p-value of 0.000 (p < 0.05). Conclusion: There is significant effectiveness of virtual reality glasses in reducing dental fear in the children who participated and underwent dental treatments

    Eficacia de los antisépticos para la reducción de la carga viral del SARS-CoV-2 en la cavidad bucal. Revisión de la literatura

    La pandemia producida por el SARS-CoV-2 ha generado una crisis sanitaria que provocó la muerte de millones de personas a nivel mundial; por ello, realizamos una revisión bibliográfica con el objetivo de recopilar información científica acerca de lo descrito por los autores sobre aquellos antisépticos que son potencialmente eficaces para la disminución de la carga viral del SARS-CoV-2 en la saliva. Con ese fin, se realizó una búsqueda de artículos electrónicos mediante buscadores como PubMed, Google Académico, SciELO, Scopus, Ebsco y Elsevier. Se analizó el desarrollo metodológico en cuanto al uso de enjuagues bucales con el propósito de reducir la carga viral y evitar el contagio entre las personas y al personal de salud. A partir de lo hallado, se concluyó que es necesario realizar ensayos clínicos con los pacientes que estén infectados de COVID-19 para comprobar la eficacia de los antisépticos como medida preventiva frente al SARS-CoV-2.
