Methodology: A quantitative study with a correlational cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 405 university students with a sample of 108 students. To collect information, the Situational Alcohol Consumption Inventory (ISCA) with 100 items divided into 8 situational categories was used, with prior coordination with the teachers of each cycle. Next, the correct filling of data in SPSS 23 was verified. Results: A correlation between the two variables, alcohol consumption and academic performance, was found with a Pearson R of 148 and a significance of 0.127. In alcohol consumption, 67.6% of the university students had a moderate risk of alcohol consumption. Regarding the dimensions, in the unpleasant emotions dimension, 66.7% showed a very high risk of alcohol consumption. In academic performance, 56.5% showed average academic performance. Conclusion: The study concluded that there is no relationship between alcohol consumption and academic performance among university students at a private university in Lima.
