    Effectiveness of intravenous versus oral iron administration in treating anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease

    To analyze and systematize the effectiveness of intravenous versus oral iron administration in the treatment of anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease. Material and Methods: Systematic observation and retrospective review of quantitative pattern, put to critical selection, using the Grade evaluation system to identify the level of evidence, found databases: PubMed, Sciencedirect, Scielo, Wiley Online Library, Elsevier, Epistemonikos Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 40% (n= 4/10) are systematic verifications, 50% (n= 5/10) are randomized controlled trials and the 10% (n= 1/10) are cohort analyses. Based on results found in the systematic exploration carried out in this study, derived from the countries of Israel (20%), followed by Australia (20%), England (20%), USA (20%), Italy (10%) and Nepal (10%). Results: Thus, of the evidence found, 100% (n=10/10) indicate that the administration of intravenous iron is more effective than oral iron in the treatment of anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease. Conclusion: The administration of intravenous iron is more effective than oral administration in the treatment of anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease.
