    Uso de métodos anticonceptivos y su relación con la salud mental en mujeres sexualmente activas que acuden al Centro de Salud Santa Magdalena Sofia, 2023

    The objective was to determine the relationship between the use of contraceptive methods and mental health in sexually active women who attend the Santa Magdalena Sofia Health Center, 2023. Method: Basic type study, hypothetical deductive method, with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design, cross-sectional and descriptive correlational level. The sample consisted of 206 sexually active women. The technique used was the survey and the measurement instrument was the questionnaire. The hypothesis was contrasted with the Chi-Square test. Results: it was observed that sexually active women first presented 100% use of barrier methods, emergency contraceptive use was 79.1% and the least used were hormonal contraceptives with 75.7%; A moderate (32.5%) and severe (32.5%) level of mental health was obtained; They presented a relationship of a moderate level of mental health using contraceptive methods 29.1%; 29.6% used hormonal contraceptives; 29.1% used emergency contraceptives and 13.1% used barrier methods (p=0.019<0.05). There is a relationship between sexually active women who used contraceptive methods and at the same time had a moderate level of mental health was 29.1%, as well as those who used contraceptive methods and at the same time had a serious level of mental health was 26.2%. Conclusion: Yes, there is a moderate relationship between the use of contraceptive methods and mental health in sexually active women.
