Ítem Acceso abierto Family functioning and aggressiveness in students of a public educational institution, Lima - 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-02-26) Zevallos Vivas, Karen Pamela; Paico Ruiz, Marcos JoséThe aim of this study was to determine the relationship between family functioning and aggression in students from a public educational institution in Lima, 2023. A non-experimental design was employed, with a quantitative approach, correlation level, and cross-sectional design. A sample of 255 students from first to fifth year of secondary school from a Lima school was selected, who were administered the Family Cohesion and Adaptability Scale FACES-IV and the Buss and Perry Aggression Questionnaire. The results revealed that family functioning did not significantly correlate with aggression (rho = -0.05; p = 0.36 > 0.05); a similar result was found for the relationship between family functioning and the aggression dimensions (p < 0.05). This led to the premise that if students from this institution are exposed to family functioning problems, they will not necessarily develop aggressive behaviors.
