Lima - Perú, 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-09-16) Chávez Caro, Helen Dianne; Hermoza Moquillaza, Rocío VictoriaThe aim of the present research was to determine the relationship between work stress and the performance of health workers at at a tertiary level establishment in the year 2021. A non-experimental, correlational and cross-sectional study was conducted with the participation of 80 professionals, including physicians and nurses, who were working in the Emergency, Intensive Care and Internal Medicine departments of the Cayetano Heredia National Hospital. One instrument was applied per each variable. To address work stress, the Maslach-Burnout Inventory (MBI) applied to health careers was used. The use of this tool is well known in research related to stress in workers. While a questionnaire developed for the present study was used to assess performance, which was validated by five expert judges. The data collected were analyzed with SPSS version 25 and Excel 2013. The findings indicate that 81% of the respondents presented medium and high levels of stress, with female participants presenting higher levels of stress. It is concluded that there is statistical significance between work stress and health workers' performance (p < 0.05).
