(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-08-22) Huamani Casimiro, Lili Raquel; Quispe Huarcaya, Blanca Diana; Caldas Herrera, Emma
The research work has as its objective: to determine the “Characteristics of Prescription, Availability, and Dispensing of Antimicrobials in Pharmaceutical Establishments (Pharmacies and Drugstores) of the District of Puente Piedra – DISA V, January 2018.” Methodology: This corresponds to a descriptive, observational, prospective, cross-sectional, quantitative, non-experimental study. The spatial universe comprised 18 sectors with a total of 237 pharmaceutical establishments (5 pharmacies and 232 drugstores) in the district of Puente Piedra, during the period from January 1 to January 31, 2018. Data collection was carried out using standardized forms (Care and Dispensing). Results: The results obtained indicate that the proportion of prescriptions with prescribed antimicrobials was 84%. Furthermore, 70% of the prescribed antimicrobials belonged to the National Essential Medicines List (PNUME), 60% contained their International Nonproprietary Name (INN), and the proportion of dispensed antimicrobials that were substituted was 2.2%, with a 95% confidence level. The proportion of prescribed antimicrobials with registered dosage was 87%, of which 98% had the administration frequency recorded and 99% had the duration of treatment documented. Conclusion: This research allowed us to determine the most frequent problems patients face when receiving a medical prescription. The dispensing process often results in the inappropriate dispensing of antimicrobials, and the lack of availability contributes to the development of antimicrobial resistance.

Características de la prescripción, disponibilidad y expendio de antimicrobianos en farmacias y boticas del distrito de Independencia – DISA V, setiembre 2014
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Flores Valencia, Genaro David; Icho Yacupoma, Ruth Gricelda; Caldas Herrera, Emma
This research focused on the prescription, availability, and dispensing practices of antimicrobials in pharmacies and drugstores in the district of Independencia, DISA V – Lima, September 2014. The study was descriptive, cross-sectional, and retrospective, and data were collected through a dispensing/care form that recorded information about antimicrobials prescribed according to patients’ conditions. Results showed that 67.13% of prescribed antimicrobials were included in the National List of Essential Medicines, but only 41.71% were prescribed using their International Nonproprietary Name, a value below the expected target. Additionally, 23.48% of antimicrobials were substituted at the time of dispensing. The evaluation of treatment parameters indicated that dosage (87.85%), frequency of administration (88.67%), and treatment duration (88.95%) were outside the expected range. In pharmacies and drugstores, 23.48% of antimicrobials were replaced due to lack of availability or recommendation of alternatives, and only 67.13% of dispensed antimicrobials corresponded to the National List of Essential Medicines. These findings reveal shortcomings in antimicrobial prescribing and dispensing practices, underscoring the need for improved compliance with national guidelines to ensure safe and rational use of medicines.

Comercialización de medicamentos de prescripción en establecimientos no farmacéuticos del distrito de Los Olivos 2018
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-10-29) Beltrán Olivera, Jackyline Deisy; Salvador Carhuatanta, Gladys Yanett; Tapia Ramírez, William Enrique
The objective of this research thesis was to investigate the commercialization of prescription drugs in non-pharmaceutical establishments in the district of Los Olivos in 2018. The methodology involved a descriptive, observational, and cross-sectional study that used a "shopping simulation" data collection form. This simulation was applied to a sample of 664 non-pharmaceutical establishments from June to November 2018 to determine if they sold prescription medications. The results showed that 68.2% of the establishments had prescription drugs available, while 31.8% did not. The most common prescription drugs found were antibiotics (amoxicillin, ampicillin, sulfamethoxazole+trimethoprim), NSAIDs (naproxen, ketorolac, diclofenac, and ibuprofen), and antispasmodics (Buscapina and Plidan), along with others like Doloflan Extra Forte (diclofenac + paracetamol) and Damicocyn 1.5 mg (levonorgestrel). The non-pharmaceutical establishments with the highest incidence of commercialization were grocery stores ("bodegas") at 92%, followed by retail stores at 6.2% and bazaars at 1.1%. In conclusion, this investigation reveals that a high percentage of non-pharmaceutical establishments sell prescription drugs, highlighting this practice as a real problem. Therefore, it is necessary to educate the public about the potential consequences of selling prescription drugs without a qualified professional to provide information on their proper use.

Contextualización socio-médico-legal de las mujeres recluidas con niños en dos establecimientos penitenciarios de Lima, 2020: estudio mixto
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-03-26) Martínez Alvarez, Blanca Magnolia; Benites Castillo, Santiago Moises
Objectives: Build a theoretical model that allows contextualizing and understanding the social, medical and legal situation of women confined with children in two prisons in Lima, 2020. Materials and methods: The quantitative-qualitative study, non-experimental design, sequential explanatory. The data collection form for the quantitative phase and the in-depth interview guide for the qualitative phase were applied. The sample from the qualitative phase (n = 13) represented a subset of the population-sample from the quantitative phase (n = 58). The absolute and relative frequencies of the quantitative variables were calculated, the qualitative data were subjected to axial coding and contrast analysis of data. Meta-inferences from both analyzes constituted the final product of the study. Results: The social, medical and legal situation was characterized by various mostly negative experiences, related to different individual aspects and the conditions of confinement and prison treatment. Serious deficiencies perceived in the health care of inmates and children stand out, with emphasis on mistreatment and indifference on the part of the staff. Other intervening factors were identified in the experiential context studied. Conclusion: The results provide evidence of serious structural and organizational deficiencies that violate the fundamental rights of the population group studied. Government efforts to date are partial and insufficient. Sustainable policies and programs are urgently needed that prioritize quality health care and adequate prison treatment for these people with an emphasis on preventive-promotional actions. There is a need for evidence-based interventions to reduce the harmful effect of childhood incarceration.

Cumplimiento de buenas prácticas de dispensación y satisfacción de los usuarios que acuden a boticas Inkafarma en la provincia de Chachapoyas, noviembre – 2021
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-03-28) Purizaca Jiménez, Liliana; Aquino Comun, Mery
The general objective of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of compliance with Good Dispensing Practices (GDP) and the degree of satisfaction of users visiting Inkafarma drugstores in the province of Chachapoyas in November 2021. The method used was hypothetical-deductive, with a basic type, a quantitative approach, a descriptive-correlational level, a cross-sectional scope, and a non-experimental design. A 23-question questionnaire for the satisfaction variable was applied to 347 voluntary users, and a 43-question questionnaire for the GDP compliance variable was applied to the pharmaceutical chemists. Results showed that both the compliance with Good Dispensing Practices and the degree of user satisfaction were at a medium level. It was also determined that there is no general relationship between GDP compliance and user satisfaction, as the chi-squared value was greater than 0.9 (p > 0.05). In conclusion, although both GDP compliance and satisfaction are at a medium level, there is no significant relationship between the two variables, indicating they are independent. However, these variables showed a possible relationship with the 'dispensing environment' dimension of GDP and satisfaction, suggesting a new study could be proposed with the general question: Is there a relationship between the dispensing environment and user satisfaction?
