The human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), this virus acts by attacking the body's defenses, this disease has affected many countries and currently represents one of the greatest concerns in different sectors of the government. Nursing professionals are the first line in the care of patients with HIV-AIDS, the knowledge that they may have about the disease will lead to the provision of human quality care. Likewise, it is important to highlight that there are studies that demonstrate that high levels of anxiety generate fear in health professionals regarding the contagion of this disease, which influences the attitudes that nursing staff may demonstrate while caring for patients with this disease. Nursing staff must carry out their profession with great responsibility and professional ethics.

Knowledge and attitudes towards the prevention of STIs/HIV-AIDS, in students of I and II cycle of the academic professional school of nursing of the Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener

Objective: Determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes towards the prevention of STI/HIV-AIDS of the students of the I and II cycle of the Professional Academic School of Nursing of the Faculty of Health Sciences of the Norbert Wiener Private University. 2016. Materials and methods: The present research study is quantitative, cross-sectional correlational descriptive type, the population was made up of 316 students and the convenience sample was 30 students. Simple random probabilistic sampling was carried out, the survey was used as a technique and the questionnaire was: the survey, prepared by the researchers. Results: Regarding the level of knowledge in nursing students of the 1st and 2nd Cycle of the Nursing EAP of the Norbert Wiener Private University about Sexually Transmitted Infections-HIV/AIDS. Of the 100% (n=30) of students surveyed, 13% (4) have a High Level of Knowledge, 47% (14) have a Medium Level of Knowledge and 40% (12) have a Low Level of Knowledge . Regarding the attitudes of nursing students in the 1st and 2nd Cycle of the Nursing EAP of the Norbert Wiener Private University towards the prevention of STIs/HIV-AIDS, of the total of 30 (100%) of the students surveyed. It is observed that 23% (7) of the students have a Bad Attitude, 60% (18) of the students have a Regular Attitude and 17% (5) of the students have a Good Attitude. conclusion: There is a statistically significant relationship between the level of knowledge and attitudes in nursing students of the 1st and 2nd Cycle of the EAP of Nursing at the Norbert Wiener Private University, on Sexually Transmitted Infections-HIV/, a correlation positive moderate Spearman R 0.802 and p value 0.003.

Percepción del riesgo de infección por VIH /SIDA en estudiantes universitarios varones de una universidad particular de Lima

El presente estudio fue planteado con el objetivo de establecer la relación entre el conocimiento y la percepción del riesgo de infección por VIH/SIDA en estudiantes varones de la carrera de Ingeniería de Sistemas e Informática de una Universidad Particular de Lima, año 2024 Material y métodos: de tipo cuantitativo, no experimental, descriptivo, de corte transversal, correlacional y prospectivo. Se encuesto a una población de 131 estudiantes de la carrera de ingeniería de una universidad en particular. Utilizando un cuestionario de dos bloques una de conocimiento y otra de percepción de riesgo teniendo cada una 15 pregunta. Los resultados a las que se llegó son: los factores sociodemográficos muestran que el estado civil de los estudiantes, el 82 % es soltero, el 65% está entre el rango de 17- 20 años, el 45% entre el ciclo I-III, se encontraban trabajando el 59 % si trabaja. Respecto al nivel de conocimiento al VIH/Sida del 58% de los estudiantes tuvo un nivel alto de conocimiento. Acerca de la percepción el 80% de los estudiantes tuvo un alto nivel de percepción de riesgo respecto al VIH/SIDA. Conclusión: Existe una relación estadísticamente significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento y percepción de riesgo sobre el VIH/SIDA en estudiantes varones de la carrera de ingeniería e informática de una Universidad Particular de Lima 2024.

Variation of the liver biochemical profile during antiretroviral treatment in HIV-positive serum samples in a national hospital in Lima, 2015 - 2017

Liver disease in HIV-positive patients can be due to viral infection, antiretroviral therapy, and comorbidities or coinfections. A descriptive, retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted. The sample consisted of HIV-positive patients in any stage of clinical infection receiving active antiretroviral therapy (ART), of both sexes, with results from liver profiles including Alanine Aminotransferase, Aspartate Aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase, Gamma-Glutamyl Transpeptidase, and total proteins. Serum results were evaluated within normal limits and across three liver profile controls. One hundred HIV-positive patients with a mean age of 33±9.56 years were included. AST and ALT values decreased between the first and third control, with significant differences between normal and altered values for AST (p<0.05). GGT, FC, and PT showed no changes between controls or differences between normal and elevated patients.
