According to the Spanish Society of Pediatrics, parents should be provided with the necessary and timely information about home care; such as the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding, hygiene, sleep and/or rest, and recognition of warning signs. The objective of the study is: "To determine the level of knowledge and practices regarding home care of the newborn in mothers in the neonatal service of the Felipe Huamán Poma de Ayala Hospital in Puquio, 2021." Research method: The hypothetical deductive method will be used. The approach: quantitative. The type of study: proposed will be applied, since it will focus on providing solutions and recommendations. The design: non-experimental and cross-sectional. Population and sample: it will consist of 30 mothers whose children are newborns. Instruments: Two validated instruments will be applied, the first instrument to measure knowledge about home care will be used, the questionnaire and the second instrument to measure practice on home care, the observation guide will be used with its technique. Statistical analysis: The collected information will be entered into the Excel database and then into the SPSS version 26 program and the results will be presented in tables. Through charts or tables, in order to perform an analysis considering the theoretical framework.Ítem Acceso abierto Maternal risk factors associated with intrauterine fetal growth restriction(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-09-25) Nieves Peña, Milena Geraldine; Salazar Granada, Alberto AlcibiadesMethodology: The review was conducted through electronic searches of various articles related to maternal risk factors associated with intrauterine fetal growth restriction (IUGR). The search sources were PUBMED, EMBASE, and Google Scholar. The descriptors used for information retrieval were the key terms: maternal risk factors and intrauterine fetal growth restriction. Articles published with research results from 2014 to 2021 were selected. Results: Thirty-one observational studies were selected. The prevalence of IUGR according to different authors ranges from 3.7% to 22.4%. In Peru, it is reported to range from 4.8% to 10.1%. Obstetric factors associated with IUGR were: adolescent age with an odds ratio (OR) of 1.26 to OR = 28.30; advanced maternal age with OR = 1.05 to OR = 9.1; prenatal control <7 visits with OR = 1.29 to OR = 6.43; short intergenetic period with OR = 1.78 to OR = 13.16; and pregestational maternal weight <50 kg with OR = 1.70 to OR = 8.60. Obstetric pathology factors associated with IUGR in most of the selected studies report preeclampsia with OR = 1.69 to OR = 66.54; anemia during pregnancy with OR = 2.18 to OR = 9.70; previous IUGR with OR = 3.26 to OR = 14.49; and preterm birth with OR = 3.58 to OR = 14.60. Conclusions: The prevalence of IUGR ranges from 3.7% to 22.4%. The main associated factors include extreme ages, insufficient prenatal control, short intergenetic period, and obstetric factors such as preeclampsia, anemia during pregnancy, and a history of IUGR.Ítem Acceso abierto Obstetric and perinatal complications of pregnant women diagnosed with COVID-19(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-26) Huayhua Zuñiga, Kimberly Corayma; Marín Guevara, Leticia GloriaThis research aims to determine the scientific evidence on obstetric and perinatal complications of pregnant women diagnosed with Covid-19. The study design was a quantitative systematic review. In the field of study, a thorough review of the scientific articles published in scientific journals such as Pubmed, Google Academic and Scielo was carried out. The study subjects were considered 34 articles published in the period from 2019 to 2021. The results were 88% of the systematic review type studies reviewed. The main obstetric complications of pregnant women with Covid19 were 39% of the studies reported Preterm delivery, 16% Preeclampsia and 13% maternal deaths. Perinatal complications were prematurity reported in 36% of the studies followed by perinatal death with 28%. The risk factors for preeclampsia and maternal and perinatal complications in a pregnant woman attended at the María Auxiliadora Hospital during the month of January 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-02-28) Cárdenas Ruiz, Iris; Sanz Ramirez, Ana MaríaMaterials and Methods: This is a qualitative research study; observational, descriptive, retrospective, involving a clinical case review of the management of a pregnant woman with preeclampsia treated at a level III hospital during January 2023. The study included personal, family, obstetric, pathological history, diagnosis, physical examination, auxiliary exams, obstetric management, and evolution until discharge. Results: The case involves a 28-week gestation third-time pregnant woman, with obesity, prematurity, early intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR), and mild preeclampsia without signs of severity, which evolved into severe preeclampsia during the preoperative period. She was discharged on the sixth day after cesarean section, with hepatic revision due to preeclampsia with signs of severity and resolved HELLP syndrome. Conclusion: The risk factors for developing preeclampsia were identified as advanced maternal age (sociodemographic factor), late and insufficient prenatal care (obstetric factor), and starting the pregnancy with overweight and obesity (pathological and clinical history). Preeclampsia with severe criteria has a rapid progression and can lead to maternal and perinatal complications, with pregnancy termination being the most effective management approach, carrying the risk of prematurity for the newborn.
