Regarding the technique, it was a cross-sectional, non-experimental study. with a quantitative approach, applied purpose and descriptive level. Various devices were used to obtain accurate data, including the observation guide created with the NIC in mind. Interventions were used to reduce anxiety, the STAI scale to measure anxiety in a group of patients and their families, and socioeconomic data and its impact on pre-surgical anxiety were identified. It was revealed that specific activities for the treatment of pre-surgical anxiety are not carried out at all and that few are carried out regularly. The levels of anxiety in this hospital are significant: patients declare it in 31.9% and family members in 38.3%. After these findings, the intervention based on NIC activities and developed by the researcher using scientific references was implemented in a second group of patients and relatives, which revealed promising results by achieving low levels of anxiety in a higher percentage with 40.4%. for patients and 48.9% for family members. Additionally, it was found that the level of anxiety can be increased by factors such as gender, educational level, economic level, previous surgeries and type of surgery. Based on these resultsÍtem Acceso abierto Stress and anxiety in end-stage cancer patients at a specialized national institution in Lima, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-05-28) Huamán Adama, Elvira Dula; Montoro Valdivia, Marcos AntonioCancer, starting from a psycho-emotional approach, is a pathology with a great burden of personal and family affliction.
