The present secondary research titled as a critical review: Nutrition and treatment of leukemia: Relationship with survival in pediatric patients, aimed to demonstrate the changes in nutritional status in the different stages of oncological treatment and the relationship with survival. The clinical question was: Is there a relationship between nutrition and survival in pediatric patients with acute lymphoblastic leukemia? The Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) methodology was used. The information search was carried out in PUBMED, SCIELO, SCOPUS, LILACS, EMBASE, finding 102 articles, 24 being selected that have been evaluated by the CASPE critical reading tool, finally selecting the Systematic Review entitled Cellular oxidative stress in patients with Pediatric leukemia and lymphoma undergoing treatment is associated with protein consumption, which has a level of evidence IA and Strong Grade of Recommendation, according to the researcher's expertise. The critical commentary allowed us to conclude that more research is needed to explore complex interactions between macro- and micronutrient consumption over longer periods of time.Ítem Acceso abierto Eating habits and nutritional status in elderly adults members of the elderly adult club of Hospital Chancay, 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-12-27) Durand La Madrid, Melva Magaly; Uturunco Vera, Milagros LizbethIntroduction: People in the world over 60 years of age between 2015 and 2050 will change from 900 million to 2 billion, which will represent a growth of 12% to 22%. Objective: Establish the relationship between knowledge about healthy eating and the nutritional status of patients undergoing hemodialysis at the Cayetano Heredia hospital, Lima - 2021. Methods: the research is quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, correlational and transectional. A non-probabilistic sample will be taken for convenience or intentionally from 80 patients who are receiving hemodialysis treatment, 3 times a week for 3 to 4 hours a day in the Hemodialysis area of the Cayetano Heredia Hospital. Through the survey, a validated and reliable instrument will be applied to determine the level of knowledge and through documentary analysis of the medical records, the different clinical parameters of the patient's nutritional status will be taken. The data collected will be analyzed using parametric and non-parametric correlation tests such as Pearson's coefficient, Kendall's Tau B and Spearman to analyze the relationships in each of the dimensions of nutritional status.Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge and frequency of omega-3 consumption in teachers of the Professional Academic School of Nutrition and Dietetics of the Norbert Wiener Private University, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-12-15) Valverde Solorzano, Diana Lucero; Bravo Araujo, Gloria TulaThe rapid international spread of SARS-CoV-2 - responsible for causing the Covid 19 disease - has affected more than 52 million inhabitants and has generated more than 1.29 million deaths in the world. The most vulnerable people to this disease have mainly been people who have had respiratory complications, chronic non-communicable diseases and other comorbidities. Faced with this inflammatory condition, omega 3 fatty acids produce fewer proinflammatory cytokines, therefore, an adequate intake of these omega 3 fatty acids can improve immune function and reduce the severity of people diagnosed with Covid 19. On the other hand Currently, the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases continues to grow alarmingly in each age group, with the adult stage being the one with the highest risk of mortality, which is why diet plays a predominant role in the preventive issue. There is scientific evidence that shows that omega 3 fatty acids are directly related to reducing cardiovascular risk. EPA (eicosapentaenoic) and DHA (docosahexaenoic) have shown great effectiveness in the preventive aspect of various pathologies, which include joint diseases, cardiovascular diseases, neuronal complications and cancer, for this reason they become of utmost importance since they cannot be synthesized by the body, for that reason they must be obtained through the diet.Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship between level of knowledge and practices of healthy lifestyles in students of the professional academic school of human nutrition of the Norbert Wiener Private University, Lima-Peru, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-12-30) Illaconza Chacón, Andrea Elizabeth; Bravo Araujo, Gloria TulaObjective: Determine the relationship between level of knowledge and practice of healthy lifestyles in students of the Professional Academic School of Human Nutrition of the Norbert Wiener Private University, Lima-Peru, 2022. Methodology: Analytical, hypothetical-deductive study with focus quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive-correlational, analytical, transversal and prospective. For data collection, a survey was used for each variable, both with closed questions. Results: Weak indirect correlation between level of knowledge and lifestyle practices (r= -0.035; p=0.781). Conclusion: There is a weak, indirectly proportional negative relationship between the levels of knowledge and healthy lifestyle practices in nutrition students at the Norbert Wiener Private University Lima-Peru, 2022.Ítem Acceso abierto Risk factors and their relationship with the overweight in fourth and fifth grade schoolchildren elementary of the educational institution Julio Cesar Tello Villa El Salvador, Lima 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-07-06) Chapoñan Moreno, Liliana; Mori Castro, Jaime AlbertoThe objective of this research was to determine the relationship between risk factors and overweight in fourth and fifth grade schoolchildren of the Julio Cesar Tello Villa El Salvador educational institution, Lima 2023. The methodology of quantitative approach and descriptive correlational type, sought the use of the questionnaire to a total of 84 students. The results in terms of risk factors, specified that 83.3% of students have a medium level of risk, in terms of being overweight, the results obtained showed that 94% of students have a medium condition. Likewise, it was concluded that a considerable positive relationship is maintained between risk factors and overweight with a value of 0.532, in terms of the Biological factors and overweight dimension, a result of 0.551 was obtained, that is, a considerable positive relationship, in relation to for the social factors dimension, a result of 0.615 was obtained, considered as a significant positive relationship and finally, in the nutritional factors dimension, a value of 0.684 was maintained, considered as a considerable positive relationship. Understanding that in all of them a directly proportional behavior was maintained.
