Effectiveness of group education vs. individual education to improve the quality of life of patients with Diabetes Mellitus
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-09) Silva Valencia, Teresa Isabel; Wong Valerio, Miryam Luisa; Remuzgo Artezano, Anika
Objective: Determine the effectiveness of group health education compared to individual education in improving the quality of life of patients with Diabetes Mellitus. Material and method: Retrospective systematic bibliographic search and review. The search was restricted to articles with full text and with a time limit of 10 years, and was carried out in the databases PudMed, Index de Enfermería, Scielo, Evidentia, Cochrane during the month of February 2016. Results: They were chosen 10 articles obtaining the following data: the application of group education has a great impact on the level of knowledge about the disease, as demonstrated in 100% of the articles reviewed, improving adherence to the treatment (66.6%), raising self-care levels (83.3%), achieving behavioral changes in relation to diet and physical activity (50%), therefore controlling biochemical parameters such as glucose (83.3%), and physical such as weight and BMI (33.3%) also shows other indicators such as: no diabetic complications (16.6%) which translate into a decrease in emergency care due to hyper or hypo glycemia. Conclusions: In this bibliographic review, group education is highlighted as the most effective method for the transmission of important knowledge. It also shows us the impact it causes as a means for socialization and the exchange of experiences. Structured group education as a complement to individual education appears necessary and extremely important to improve the quality of life and metabolic control of people with diabetes.

Results: In the final selection, 10 articles were chosen, 10% being Chile and 90% of other Latin American countries, no attempt was made to calculate the sample sizes required to determine if the mortality rates and major morbidities after cardiac surgery They change depending on the moment chosen to perform the extubation. 30% are Quasi-experimental studies, another 30% are Random Studies applying conventional extubation with early extubation and prospective studies of the study criteria considering risk factors and patient age in search of evaluating the morbidity and mortality of the patients. patients undergoing cardiac surgery. Conclusions: It was evident in scientific research and systematic reviews of the different types of randomized, quasi-randomized and prospective studies that consider Early Extubation effective in cardiac surgery patients, which reduces the risk of infection and the hospital stay of the post-surgery patient. cardiac surgery, therefore, reduces institutional costs. In addition, the nurse plays important roles in standardizing the care of the intubated patient through timely care in the patency of secretions, position of the patient, well-being and maintenance of the physical and mental comfort of the patient undergoing cardiac surgery.

Resistance to the use of personal protective equipment in workers at the “Torres” carpentry shop, Carabayllo- 2021
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-09-26) Gabriel Mendoza, Leslie Mercedes; Fernández Rengifo, Werther Fernando
Individual safety clothing is a tool that protects different parts of the body, directly exposing workers to risk factors that can cause injuries and illnesses. Workplace accidents help reduce the severity of injuries, but there are different types and forms, each with its own purpose and use. Personal protective factors prevent the employee from being directly exposed to the risk agents exposed in the course of their work activities, even if it is proven that the worker does not use them. “Resistance to the use of personal protective equipment among workers at the “Torres” carpentry shop is one of the most common obstacles that we discovered in charge of advising and verifying the use of equipment. Rejection is caused by a variety of factors, such as annoyance, resistance to change, embarrassment or employee behavior, I don't know, I don't know or I can't. The verification of the practical, effective and reliable tool that can measure not only the worker's tolerance for protective equipment, but also the classification scale was carried out. All of these are very useful and important benefits to attack and reduce resistance, points for the greatest interests and occupational culture of local companies. It can strengthen safety and health to attack and reduce the level of opposition and thus strengthen the OSH culture.
