Ítem Acceso abierto Construction and validation of an instrument on oral hygiene measures and care in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic in Peru 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-10-23) Velasquez Quezada, Alexander Zocimo; Céspedes Porras, JacquelineObjective: The objective of this research was to establish the content validity of an instrument to assess the level of knowledge about oral hygiene measures and care in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Peru in 2021, among students of the Monseñor Fidel Olivas Escudero State School, secondary level, aged 12 to 17 years. Material and Methods: The study used a deductive approach, quantitative focus, and psychometric validation of a measurement instrument, with an observational design and longitudinal scope. The sample focused on 70 secondary students, both female and male, aged 12 to 17, who were administered a questionnaire virtually via a Google Forms survey. The instrument was validated through expert judgment before application, and after 20 days, the instrument was reapplied. Results: The instrument showed content validity with an approval category of 0.8-0.92 and construct validity with a bifactorial model. It also demonstrated internal consistency with strong reliability (Cronbach’s alpha values of 0.901 and 0.900 for the instruments "Oral Hygiene Measures" and "Oral Hygiene Care," respectively) and strong stability (intraclass correlation coefficient of 0.964, statistically significant with p = 0.000). Conclusion: The instrument has content validity, reliability, construct validity, and stability for assessing the level of knowledge about oral hygiene measures and care in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in Peru in 2021.
