Autocuidado y calidad de vida de los pacientes oncológicos sometidos a quimioterapia, en un hospital de Lima, 2024

Objetivo: Determinar de qué manera el autocuidado se relaciona con la calidad de vida de los pacientes oncológicos sometidos a quimioterapia. Métodos: el estudio se presenta bajo un diseño no experimental en un corte de tiempo transversal bajo un nivel correlacional y de tipo aplicada, con la participación de una muestra conformada por 90 pacientes de la especialidad de oncología, ello por medio del uso del método de recopilación de información de la encuesta a través de dos cuestionarios que ha sido verificados en su validez y confiabilidad, con lo cual se recolectará la información pertinente para el estudio, de la cual se obtendrá una data desarrollada y codificada en Excel, que se analizará mediante el software SPSS 25.0 en su contexto estadístico, dicho software arrojará datos descriptivos con tablas de frecuencia y porcentaje además de figuras que permitirán conocer el nivel de las variables, asimismo se procederá con la estadística inferencial donde se comprueba las hipótesis planteadas a través de juna prueba llamada Rho de Spearman que mide le nivel de relación entre los elementos investigados, con lo cual se podrá brindar conclusiones que aporten a la reducción de la problemática observada.

Calidad de atención de enfermería y su relación con la satisfacción percibida en los pacientes con quimioterapia del Servicio de Oncología Médica en el Hospital de Pasco, Pasco Perú 2024

Objetivo: Analizar la relación de la calidad de atención de enfermería con la satisfacción percibida en los pacientes con quimioterapia del Servicio de Oncología Médica en el Hospital de Pasco, Pasco Perú 2024. Diseño Metodológico: El método será hipotético deductivo, enfoque cuantitativo, diseño no experimental transversal y de alcance correlacional. Población: El tamaño de la muestra es finito, ya que se conoce el número de población a estudiar que son de 87 pacientes con quimioterapia del Servicio de Oncología Médica en el Hospital de Pasco, Pasco Perú 2024, dicho estudio es un muestreo probabilístico. Técnica: se empleará la encuesta en su modalidad de cuestionario y una ficha de observación. Instrumentos: Instrumento: La técnica que se utilizó en la presente investigación fue (a encuesta. El instrumento fue Un cuestionario elaborado por los investigadores, siendo estructurado en tres partes: Instrumento: Ficha de evaluación que mide la actitud. El instrumento Variable 1: Calidad de atención y la Variable 2: Satisfacción del paciente. Procesamiento estadístico y análisis de datos: Se aplicará técnicas descriptivas para evaluar la distribución de frecuencias de las variables y dimensiones; y se realizará un análisis inferencial para probar la hipótesis empleando según sea el caso Rho de Spearman de Pearson.

Clinical manifestations due to coronavirus and quality of life in oncological patients at the Jesús Nazareno Ayacucho support hospital, period 2020

Cancer is the uncontrolled growth and spread of cells that can appear anywhere in the body, often invading surrounding tissue and causing metastasis. It can be prevented by controlling risk factors. Treatment consists of chemotherapy, radiotherapy or surgery, if its detection occurs in the initial stages. Covid-19 is a recently discovered infectious disease caused by the coronavirus that affects a large part of the population and is a public health problem that causes serious damage to individuals, families and society; His condition causes a deterioration in the quality of life of the cancer patient, causing high costs in treatment and controls. Aim. Determine how the clinical manifestation of coronavirus is associated with quality of life in cancer patients. Methodology. The present study has a quantitative approach, Hypothetical - deductive method, correlational level, applied type and non-experimental cross-sectional design. On a sample of 56 oncology patients with Covid-19, intentionally selected from a population of 120 oncology patients. Instruments: the FUMAT Questionnaire and Scale, the first of which has been validated by expert judgment. Reliability was determined using Cronbach's Alpha, the contrast statistics will be the Chi square test.

Conocimiento sobre autocuidado y calidad de vida del paciente oncológico sometido a quimioterapia en un hospital nacional de la región del Callao – 2024

El conocimiento sobre las medidas de autocuidado en los usuarios oncológicos sustenta la relevancia de mantener una calidad de vida (CV) al interior de la familia y como sustento al enfrentar los procesos de la quimioterapia durante su tratamiento, si bien es cierto los casos de pacientes oncológicos se han visto incrementados a nivel mundial también es necesario fomentar el autocuidado para el mantenimiento de la CV del paciente. El estudio tiene como finalidad establecer la asociación del conocimiento acerca autocuidado con la CV del paciente oncológico sometido a quimioterapia de un “hospital nacional” limeño. Se realizará un estudio aplicado, cuantitativa, correlativo y transversal. Se trabajará con 90 pacientes, utilizándose dos cuestionarios uno para valorar el conocimiento con 20 preguntas y el cuestionario Woqol Bref 26 para CV, una vez aplicado se realizará la codificación de los datos para su examinación utilizando el programa estadístico SPSS v29, mostrando los hallazgos en tablas para interpretación.

Coping and quality of life in patients receiving chemotherapy at the Augusto Hernández Mendoza Hospital, Ica 2023

Objective: To determine how coping is related to quality of life in patients receiving chemotherapy. Methodology: The method will be hypothetical-deductive, quantitative approach, applied type, cross-sectional correlational non-experimental design, the population will be made up of 80 patients from the oncology service receiving chemotherapy, it will be a census sample, because it is a small population. For the data collection, 2 validated instruments will be used with previously established reliability, on the other hand, once the information is collected, the data will be processed in the statistical program SPSS V24, a descriptive and inferential statistical analysis will be carried out, the hypotheses will be contrasted with Spearman's Rho Statistical Correlation Test, having a significance level of p < 0.05.

Coping strategies and quality of life in patients with cervical cancer receiving chemotherapy in a hospital in the Callao Region, 2023

Cervical cancer is considered a critical problem worldwide, since it is the second type of cancer with the highest incidence in women, that is, it corresponds to 10% of all these cases. Objective: Determine the impact that coping strategies have on the quality of life of patients with cervical cancer receiving chemotherapy in a Hospital in the Callao region, 2023. Methods: Quantitative, cross-sectional and correlational research. The population will be made up of 80 women who suffer from cervical cancer and receive chemotherapy; the entire population will be used for the sample. The technique to be used will be the survey and two questionnaires as an instrument; The first will measure the coping strategies developed by Apaza and Alejandro in Lima, and the second will measure the quality of life, which was developed by Martínez, both of which have validation and statistical reliability of 0.87 and 0.80 respectively. To apply both instruments, we will proceed to request permission from the Hospital authorities, then we will collect the data which will receive statistical treatment using the SPSS software that will allow us to apply Spearman's Rho test to determine whether or not there is a relationship between the variables.

Coping strategies can be behavioral, emotional or cognitive, they help cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy treatments to control their emotions and be able to maintain quality of life in the final stages of the disease. The objective of the study is to "Determine the relationship between coping strategies with quality of life in patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment in the oncology service of a hospital in Lima, 2022." The approach will be quantitative because the variables described can be represented through statistical tables, the design will be correlational and the type will be applied; The sample will consist of 80 people receiving chemotherapy. The type of sample will be census. Two validated instruments will be used, a questionnaire for the first variable and in the second variable, a questionnaire will also be used. Likewise, for data processing and analysis: results will be entered manually into Microsoft Excel, and SPSS version 26. Likewise, for the hypothesis test the non-parametric chi square test will be applied that seeks to relate two variables, the results will be shown in tables and/or graphs.

Critical review effect of oral nutritional supplementation in patients receiving chemotherapy

Cancer patients who receive chemotherapy manifest various secondary nutritional effects that contribute to the deterioration of their nutritional status. The present research titled as a critical review: Effect of oral nutritional supplementation in patients receiving chemotherapy aimed to identify the possible effects of nutritional supplementation in patients undergoing chemotherapy. The clinical question was: What is the effect of oral nutritional supplementation in patients receiving chemotherapy? The Evidence-Based Nutrition (NuBE) methodology was used. The investigation and selection of information was carried out from the Google Scholar search engines and databases such as Science Direct, Pubmed, HINARI, Scielo, Dialnet, and 42 articles were found, selecting 12 that have been evaluated by the instrument for critical reading. CASPE, finally choosing “Systematic review and meta-analysis of the evidence of oral nutritional intervention on nutritional and clinical outcomes during chemotherapy (radiotherapy): current evidence and guidance for the design of future trials, which It has a Level of evidence: AII, Grade of recommendation: Strong, as evaluated by the researcher. The critical comment allowed us to conclude that said meta-analysis suggests a general effect that could be found on body weight after nutritional interventions, with oral supplementation during chemo and/or radiotherapy, in addition to providing a benefit with respect to the metabolic alterations that we could found in cancer patients.

Critical review: dietary intake changes in breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy

Breast cancer is a disease that is characterized by the uncontrolled growth of cells. Most cancers form a mass called a tumor. This alteration makes it difficult for the body to function properly. Breast cancer can start in different parts of the breast: there are ductal, lobular and other less common cancers such as phyllodes and angiosarcoma. The search was carried out in a systematic computerized way in the search engines ELSEVIER, PUBMED, HINARI, COCHRANE, SCIELO, GOOGLE ACADÉMICO, DIMENSION, SCIENCEDIRECT, where the key words used in the search were dietary intake, changes in intake, perception of foods, chemotherapy and breast cancer. Types of study were included: clinical trials, cohorts and cases and controls, patients over 18 years of age, of both genders, with breast cancer, with chemotherapy treatment were included. The results that were measured: the side effects of chemotherapy can affect food intake in both quality and quality, finding that there are significant changes in protein foods (P <0.001), fat (P <0.001), MUFA (P <0.001), phosphorus (P <0.001), sodium (P <0.001) and tryptophan. Likewise, it was found that the majority of patients experience nausea, vomiting, changes in taste and smell, which causes a reduction in food intake. It was concluded that chemotherapy has negative effects that harm the quality of life and health status of patients.

Critical review: effect of ginger (zingiber officinale) on nausea and vomiting in breast cancer patients receiving chemotherapy

An information search was carried out in the Medline and Cochrane databases, finding 60 articles, 6 being selected, which have been evaluated by the CASPE critical reading tool, finally the selected article allowed us to conclude that the use of ginger at doses of 1000 mg daily concomitant to chemotherapy and antiemetic drugs was not effective in reducing the incidence and severity of nausea and vomiting in patients with breast cancer.

Critical review: effect of propolis in management of oral mucositis in cancer patients

The nutritional intervention in mucositis aims to address the nutritional deficiencies in cancer patients to improve their nutritional status and quality of life. These deficiencies are evidenced in the nutritional assessment through anthropometric, biochemical, clinical, dietary, and ecological indicators. The following secondary research, Critical Review: Effect of Propolis in the Management of Oral Mucositis in Cancer Patients, aims to review the different studies conducted on the clinical question: Will propolis intervention improve oral mucositis in oncological patients of both sexes, all ages, and under oncological treatment (radiotherapy or chemotherapy)? The methodology used was NuBE. In the information gathering, 30 articles were found, 11 of which were evaluated with the CASPE tool. The systematic review titled “Mechanism of Action, Efficiency, and Safety of Propolis for Managing Oral Mucositis: A Systematic Review” was selected, with Evidence Level A1 and STRONG Grade of Recommendation. The critical comment concluded that propolis is beneficial for treating oral mucositis caused by oncological treatment, but further studies are needed with larger samples, longer treatment durations, more focus on the type of propolis used, and nutritional evaluations of participants.

Critical review: efficacy of probiotic use for the prevention and control of diarrhea in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy

Chemotherapy-induced diarrhea (CID) is a common gastrointestinal adverse reaction after chemotherapy and radiation therapy, negatively affecting the quality of life of cancer patients. Many clinical and preclinical studies show that chemotherapy significantly alters the gut microbiota. Numerous bacteria, called probiotics, have been identified as protectors against tumor genesis. Given their ability to preserve intestinal homeostasis, probiotics have been shown to have a beneficial effect on the appearance and/or severity of diarrhea and also play a protective role against cancer development. This research, titled "Critical Review: Efficacy of Probiotics in Preventing and Controlling Diarrhea in Cancer Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy," aimed to investigate whether probiotics are effective in preventing and controlling diarrhea in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.

Effect of ginger on the reduction of nausea and vomiting in adult patients with cancer under chemotherapy treatment

The secondary research titled "Critical Review: Effect of Ginger on Reducing Nausea and Vomiting in Adult Cancer Patients Undergoing Chemotherapy" aimed to determine the effect of ginger on reducing nausea and vomiting in adult cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. The clinical question was: What is the effect of ginger on reducing nausea and vomiting in adult cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy? Evidence-Based Nutrition (EBN) methodology was used, and a search was conducted in PUBMED, SCIELO, and SCIENCE DIRECT, finding 22 articles, of which 10 were selected. These articles were evaluated using the CASPe tool. The selected meta-analysis titled "Does Oral Administration of Ginger Reduce Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting? A Meta-Analysis of 10 Randomized Controlled Trials" has AII-level evidence and strong recommendation grade. The critical review concluded that ginger is significantly effective in controlling acute nausea and vomiting induced by chemotherapy, but not for controlling delayed nausea and vomiting.

Effectiveness of the administration of Omega-3 fatty acids in reducing the adverse effects of chemotherapy in cancer patients

Objective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of the administration of omega-3 fatty acids in reducing the adverse effects of chemotherapy in cancer patients. MATERIAL AND METHOD: The study is quantitative, with a systematic, observational and retrospective review design; of articles with full text, which identified their grade or quality of evidence according to the Grade System. Likewise, the population was made up of 10 most relevant scientific articles that were obtained from the following databases Pubmed, Medline, Embase, Cochrane Library, Dialnet, Scielo, and Lilacs. Of which 70% correspond to the methodological design of systematic review and 30% to randomized clinical trials, corresponding to the countries of the United States 20% (02/10), Holland 10% (01/10), Iran 10% (01 /10), Portugal 10% (01/10), Italy 10% (01/10), Colombia 10% (01/10), South Korea 10% (01/10), Mexico 10% (01/10), and Spain 10% (01/10). Results: Of the 10 articles reviewed, (10/10), 100% demonstrate effectiveness of the administration of omega-3 fatty acids in reducing the adverse effects of chemotherapy in cancer patients. Conclusions: 10 of 10 reviewed articles demonstrate evidence of the effectiveness of the administration of omega-3 fatty acids in reducing the adverse effects of chemotherapy in cancer patients; That is, evidence suggests a role for omega-3 fatty acid supplementation in cancer treatment, but they have been shown to preserve muscle mass and function in cancer patients.

Eficacia de la suplementación nutricional en la preservación de masa y función muscular en adultos sometidos a terapias antineoplásicas: revisión crítica de la evidencia

La suplementación nutricional es parte fundamental y muy considerada en el tratamiento de pacientes que cursan neoplasias malignas, ya que tienen efectos catabólicos significativos sobre la composición muscular. El objetivo fue analizar la evidencia sobre el efecto de los suplementos nutricionales en la funcionalidad muscular de adultos que reciben terapias antineoplásicas. Se realizo la pesquisa de datos a través de PUBMED, SCOPUS, SCIENCE DIRECT, WILEY ONLINE LIBRARY Y COCHRANE LIBRARY identificando 123 artículos; filtrando duplicidad, resúmenes y, excluyendo aquellos que no cumplieran los criterios de inclusión. Se han seleccionado 19 estudios, evaluados con la herramienta CASPe; escogiendo finalmente, una revisión sistemática y metaanálisis con un nivel de evidencia “A I” y grado de recomendación “fuerte”; y considerando que es el primer metaanálisis de ángulo de fase en oncología. La suplementación nutricional con varios sustratos (con mecanismos de acción diferentes) dio como resultado efectos positivos significativos estadísticamente en el ángulo de fase (diferencia de medias estandarizada [SMD]: 0.43; IC 95%: 0.10-0.77; p = 0.01) y fuerza de agarre (SMD: 0.27; IC 95%: 0.08-0.47; p = 0.01). Las intervenciones estudiadas fueron: 20 g/día de proteína de lactosuero, 2g/día de EPA (ácido eicosapentaenoico), 4g/día de curcumina, suplementación con creatinina y formulas poliméricas enriquecidas con omega-3; estas fueron administradas durante los ciclos de terapia antineoplásica. Sin embargo, los resultados deben ser tomados con criterio debido a la heterogeneidad entre estudios (i2=65.62% para ángulo de fase), además del tamaño de muestra.

Emociones y manejo del dolor osteomuscular en personas adultas atendidas en la farmacia “Mas salud” de Breña, Lima 2025

Objetivo: Este estudio tiene como finalidad determinar la relación entre las emociones y el manejo del dolor osteomuscular en personas adultas atendidas en la farmacia "MAS SALUD" de Breña. Síntesis de la metodología: La investigación es de tipo básico y adopta un método hipotético deductivo. Se utiliza un enfoque cuantitativo, con un diseño no experimental, y un alcance correlacional de corte transversal. La población está compuesta por 500 usuarios de la botica, de los cuales se tomó una muestra de 130 usuarios. Resultados principales: Los resultados indican que el 86,2% de los encuestados siente, recibe o da amor, mientras que el 78,5% suelen estar felices. Además, el 80% suele reírse y el 69,2% manifiesta incomodidad. En términos de sufrimiento, el 57,7% lo experimenta, y el 74,6% siente fastidio. En cuanto al dolor, el 52,3% reporta dolor agudo. El análisis de correlación de Rho de Spearman revela relaciones muy altas y positivas entre emociones y manejo del dolor (p=0,002; rho=0,785). Se observó que tanto las emociones positivas (p=0,003; rho=0,816) como las negativas (p=0,002; rho=0,802) están correlacionadas con el manejo del dolor osteomuscular. Asimismo, la intensidad del dolor (p=0,001; rho=0,898) y el tratamiento del dolor (p=0,004; rho=0,794) también muestran relaciones significativas. Conclusión: Se concluye que existe una relación significativa y positiva entre las emociones y el manejo del dolor osteomuscular en los usuarios de la farmacia "MAS SALUD", lo que sugiere que el estado emocional puede influir en la percepción y tratamiento del dolor.

Objective: To determine the relationship between emotional support from nursing professionals and stress coping in oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy at the Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo in 2022. Methodology: This study adopts a quantitative approach with a correlational design and a descriptive scope. The population consists of patients diagnosed with cancer and receiving treatment at the Hospital Nacional Dos de Mayo. The sample comprises 80 patients. Data collection will be conducted using the Lazarus and Folkman Stress Coping Scale, validated by Aguilar, Jimenes, and Calderón (2008). This instrument was validated with factorial values of 0.64 and 0.87, indicating high statistical significance. The reliability, measured by Cronbach's alpha, was 0.87, which is considered optimal. Data Collection and Analysis: The collected data will be analyzed and tabulated using Excel software. The results will be presented in tables and graphs.

Estado nutricional de pacientes con cáncer de cuello uterino en tratamiento de quimioterapia del instituto regional de enfermedades neoplásicas del Centro Junín 2022

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar el estado nutricional de pacientes con cáncer de cuello uterino en tratamiento de quimioterapia del Instituto Regional De Enfermedades Neoplásicas Del Centro. La metodología utilizada es inductiva de diseño no experimental, descriptivo, retrospectivo y transversal, en donde se incluirá a la totalidad de 51 pacientes con diagnóstico de cáncer de cuello uterino atendidos por consultorio externo y por hospitalización, se aplicó como técnica en ambas variables el análisis documental mediante la recolección de datos. Los resultados arrojaron que el 100% fueron de sexo femenino, siendo la edad más frecuente de 20 a 59 años 62.75 %), donde el nivel educativo predominante es secundario (54.9 %) y con nivel socioeconómico bajo (58.82 %). Se evidencio también que un 50.9% recibe el esquema de tratamiento CISPLATINO y un 49.1 % recibe tratamiento de PACLITAXEL/CARBOPLATINO.Los pacientes con cáncer de cuello uterino al llevar su tratamiento por quimioterapia sufren ciertos cambios en su cuerpo donde se ve afectado en ello la pérdida de peso, en donde tienen una malnutrición moderada el 31,4%, malnutrición severa el 27.5% y perdida sin riesgo. El porcentaje de pérdida de peso en los pacientes con cáncer de cuello uterino, muestra que un paciente tiene malnutrición moderada según el porcentaje de pérdida de peso y el IMC. Conclusión se evidencio que el porcentaje de pérdida de peso en los pacientes resulta ser malnutrición moderada (5-10%) como promedio de todas las pacientes estudiadas.

En un paciente con cáncer gástrico el estado nutricional juega un papel muy importante para lograr la tolerancia y sobre todo completar el tratamiento, por ello el objetivo de este trabajo fue: Determinar el estado nutricional en pacientes con cáncer gástrico con tratamiento de quimioterapia en el Instituto Regional de Enfermedades Neoplásicas IREN – Centro, Concepción 2022, para lo cual, la metodología empleada es inductivo de diseño no experimental, descriptivo, transversal y retrospectivo; se recolectó información de 30 historias clínicas de pacientes que cumplían los criterios de inclusión. Los resultados mostraron que el 53,34% fueron de sexo femenino y el 46,66% fueron del sexo masculino, siendo la edad más frecuente de 58 a 68 años (36,67%), el estadio IV (60%), el 96,67% cuenta con SIS, el nivel de instrucción más frecuente es secundaria (43,33%) y el 66,67% tiene como tipo de alimentación dieta completa. Respecto al nivel de nutrición según el IMC, se tiene desnutrición moderada (10%), desnutrición leve (3,3%), normal (73,3%) y sobrepeso (13,3%), respecto a la variación de peso se tiene que el 4,3% tiene un buen estado nutricional, el 23,3% malnutrición moderada y el 33,3% malnutrición grave y un nivel de riesgo nutricional severo respecto al tipo de quimioterapia 20% (Folfox 6), 6,67% (Folfiri) y 6,67% (Flot). Conclusión: se evidenció que el 73,3% presentó un estado nutricional normal según el IMC, un buen estado nutricional el 43,3% según variación de peso después de la tercera sesión de quimioterapia y el 33,34% presentan malnutrición grave respecto al tipo de quimioterapia siendo el 20% con el tipo de esquema Folfox 6.

Factores relacionados a la no adherencia en la terapia farmacológica de pacientes hipertensos en la Clínica la Luz Sede San Martín de Porres, 2023

El objetivo primordial de este trabajo fue identificar los factores asociados a la falta de cumplimiento de la terapia farmacológica en pacientes diagnosticados con hipertensión en la Clínica La Luz en San Martín de Porres durante el 2023. Esta investigación siguió un enfoque metodológico hipotético-deductivo, utilizando un enfoque cuantitativo. Se enmarcó en la categoría de investigación del tipo aplicada y alcance correlacional, utilizando el diseño no experimental de corte transversal. La muestra obtenida fue de 234 individuos siguiendo una fórmula para poblaciones finitas, a quienes se les aplicó un cuestionario después de obtener su consentimiento informado. Acorde con los resultados se reveló una asociación significativa entre los factores analizados y la falta de adherencia y un coeficiente de correlación del 0.75, indicando una relación fuerte. Específicamente, los factores de tratamiento y de riesgo mostraron una asociación significativa con la ausencia de cumplimiento en la terapia farmacológica de pacientes con hipertensión en la Clínica La Luz de San Martín de Porres. Además, se concluyó que los factores socioeconómicos se relacionaron con un nivel inferior de adherencia en la toma de medicamentos; mientras que las actividades diarias y de oficina y el consumo de alcohol dificultaron la adherencia al tratamiento.
