Accesibilidad de los medicamentos esenciales genéricos en oficinas farmacéuticas del distrito de Comas, Lima 2022

Currently, the Peruvian government has been implementing a series of strategies in the public health sector to ensure the optimal availability of essential medicines, from the first level of care to specialized institutes, aiming for full health coverage for the population. Essential generic medicines are of high priority to ensure public access as a public health right. The objective of this research was to evaluate the accessibility of essential generic medicines in terms of price and availability in pharmaceutical offices in the district of Comas, Lima, 2022. This is a study with a deductive-quantitative-descriptive methodology. The technique used was through data recording, validated by three experts in the field. The instrument applied was a data collection form, which gathered information on the availability and prices of 47 medicines listed as essential generic medicines, approved by Ministerial Resolution N°302-2020-MINSA, in a total of 73 pharmacies in the district of Comas from June to November 2022. The findings revealed a 91% availability of the entire list of medicines, with individual availability reaching 100% only for Captopril, Metformin, Naproxen, and Paracetamol solution. Regarding prices, variations ranged from 10% to 55%. Finally, it was concluded that the full list of essential generic medicines was not entirely available in the pharmacies in the district of Comas, and price variations showed up to a 55% coefficient of variation (CV).

In Peru, essential generic medicines are necessary and fundamental for the population to access as a public health right. The objective of this research was to evaluate the accessibility of essential generic medicines in terms of price and availability in pharmaceutical offices in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima, 2022. This is an applied study with a quantitative approach and a cross-sectional observational design. The instrument used was a data collection form with the observational technique. Results: A 91% availability was found for the entire list of medicines, and a 100% availability was determined individually for Captopril, Metformin, Naproxen, and Paracetamol solution. Regarding prices, a variation ranging from 10% to 55% was found. Conclusion: The availability of the full list of essential generic medicines was not entirely met in the pharmacies of San Juan de Lurigancho, while price variation showed a coefficient of up to 55%.

Análisis de los factores clave asociados al abastecimiento de medicamentos esenciales en las farmacias de la IAFAS del Ejército del Perú, durante el periodo enero – octubre de 2024

The objective of the study was to “analyze the key factors associated with the supply of IAFAS pharmacies of the Peruvian Army at the national level during the period January-October 2024.” The method used was analytical, the approach was quantitative, basic, the design was non experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive. The population and sample consisted of professional pharmaceutical chemists and/or military officers in charge (N=9), and nine IAFAS pharmacies of the Peruvian Army were also taken into account. Two instruments were used: a questionnaire and an observation guide. The results showed that the dimensions of administration (X² = 0.003) and operations (X² = 0.011) were significantly associated with the availability of essential medicines, unlike the dimension of logistics, which obtained an X² value of 0.134. It was therefore concluded that the key factors were significantly associated (X² = 0.047) with the supply of the IAFAS pharmacies of the Peruvian Army at the national level during the period January October 2024.

Generic drugs are an option to increase the availability of medications required by the population and would also be of great help to public and private health programs. The work, titled "Availability of Essential Generic Drugs in Pharmaceutical Establishments in the San Juan de Lurigancho District 2022," had the Objective of evaluating the availability of essential generic drugs in pharmaceutical establishments in the San Juan de Lurigancho district. Methodology: The study was developed using a deductive method, with a quantitative approach, and a non-experimental, observational, and cross-sectional design. The total sample consisted of 272 owners or representatives of pharmaceutical establishments. Result: The availability of essential generic drugs in the San Juan de Lurigancho district is low at 37.00%. Conclusions: There is a low availability (37.00%) of essential generic drugs in the pharmaceutical establishments of the San Juan de Lurigancho district.

Essential generic drugs are a determining factor in patient recovery, so the population must have adequate access to medications that are high-quality, effective, and affordably priced. The work, titled "Availability and Price of Essential Generic Drugs in Pharmaceutical Establishments in the Districts of Breña and Pueblo Libre. May 2019," had the Objective of determining the availability and price of essential generic drugs in pharmaceutical establishments in the Breña and Pueblo Libre districts in May 2019. Methodology: The study was descriptive, cross-sectional, and prospective. The total population consisted of 168 pharmaceutical establishments in both districts, with a sample of 118 drugstores and pharmacies. Results: The availability of essential generic drugs in the drugstores and pharmacies of the Breña district reached 77.30%, and 70.08% in the Pueblo Libre district. Amoxicillin 500 mg tablets (97.10%), Acetylsalicylic Acid 100 mg tablets (91.75%), and Paracetamol 500 mg tablets (90.10%) had the highest positioning in the drugstores and pharmacies of both districts. Conclusions: There is a fair (73.69%) availability of essential generic drugs in pharmaceutical establishments, and high prices in private pharmacies and drugstores compared to the prices listed in the Ministry of Health's price observatory.

Gestión de suministro y disponibilidad de medicamentos esenciales en la Dirección de Redes Integradas de Salud Lima Este, 2025

El objetivo general del estudio fue determinar cómo la gestión de suministro se relaciona con la disponibilidad de medicamentos esenciales en los establecimientos de salud de la Dirección de Redes Integradas de Salud Lima Este, 2025. En la metodología se aplicó el método hipotético deductivo, con enfoque cuantitativo, de tipología aplicada, diseño no experimental, corte transversal y nivel correlacional. La población y muestra censal estuvo integrada por 86 personal de los servicios de farmacia de los establecimientos de salud de Lima, Este. Se aplicó la técnica de la encuesta y dos cuestionarios de 15 preguntas cada uno, para medir la gestión de suministros y la disponibilidad de medicamentos Esenciales, validados con juicio de expertos y con un Aceptable nivel de confiabilidad Alfa de Cronbach 0.805 y 0.810. Entre los resultados se determinó que la gestión de suministros en los EESS es valorada por el 44.2% del personal en un nivel muy eficiente, mientras que la disponibilidad de medicamentos esenciales es valorada por el 34.9% en nivel eficiente; por su parte, en la prueba de hipótesis se obtuvo un coeficiente correlacional de Rho de Spearman positivo alto r 0.774 y estadísticamente significativo p 0.000<0.05 entre estas variables, permitiendo el rechazo de la H0 y aceptación de la H1. En conclusión se develó que la gestión de suministro manejada en los establecimientos de salud de la Dirección de Redes Integradas de Salud Lima Este se relaciona directa y significativamente con la disponibilidad de medicamentos esenciales (r 0.774; p 0.000).

Relación entre la disponibilidad de medicamentos esenciales y el gasto de bolsillo en el Perú, 2021-2024

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo analizar la relación entre la disponibilidad de medicamentos esenciales y el gasto de bolsillo en medicamentos de la población peruana durante 2021 y 2024. Se desarrolló un estudio observacional, ecológico, analítico y longitudinal de series temporales cortas, utilizando información agregada del Sistema Integrado de Suministro de Medicamentos (SISMED) y la Encuesta Nacional de Hogares (ENAHO), con análisis trimestral mediante estadística descriptiva y modelos de regresión lineal con errores estándar de NeweyWest (lag 2). Los resultados evidenciaron que la disponibilidad de medicamentos esenciales con stock mayor a dos meses aumentó de 67.35% en 2021 a 84.41% en 2024, mientras el gasto de bolsillo trimestral se redujo de S/ 36.19 a S/ 26.61 (−26%). En el modelo simple, un incremento de un punto porcentual en la disponibilidad se asoció con un aumento de S/ 0.30 en el gasto trimestral, y la tendencia temporal mostró una reducción de S/ 1.23 por trimestre. Al incorporar el aseguramiento, el efecto de la disponibilidad se redujo a valores cercanos a cero, mientras que cada punto porcentual adicional de cobertura se asoció con una disminución de S/ 2.04 en el gasto. Se concluyó que la variación del gasto de bolsillo en medicamentos entre 2021 y 2024 se explicó principalmente por la evolución temporal y el incremento del aseguramiento en salud, más que por un efecto independiente de la disponibilidad de medicamentos esenciales.

Uso racional de los medicamentos en pacientes del Seguro Integral de Salud, del Centro de Salud Ganímedes, San Juan de Lurigancho, octubre–diciembre 2017

Introduction: In Peru, the World Health Organization has estimated that more than 50% of all medications are prescribed and dispensed inappropriately, and 50% of patients take them incorrectly. The Objective of this research was to identify the rational use of medicines (RUM) in patients of the Comprehensive Health Insurance (SIS) at the Ganímedes Health Center in San Juan de Lurigancho from October–December. Method: A descriptive, observational, cross-sectional, and prospective study was conducted. The sample consisted of 334 patients. The instrument used was a 16-question survey, which was submitted to expert judgment by pharmaceutical chemists from Norbert Wiener University for validation. Results: It was identified that 75% of females aged 18 to 35 comply with the rational use of medicines. 81% of patients take their medications at the indicated time, complying with their treatment, but 93% stop taking their medications when they feel well, leading to non-compliance with their treatment. Conclusion: It was identified that 75% of patients with Comprehensive Health Insurance comply with the rational use of medicines, while 25% of patients do not.
