Ítem Acceso abierto Academic motivation and study habits in adolescent students of a public educational centre in Callao(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-10-27) Alva Almeyda, Raphael Cristhians; Valencia Pecho, Diego IsmaelThis research aimed to test the relationship between academic motivation and study habits in 178 secondary education students from a public school in Callao. It was a basic research type, correlational level, non-experimental design, and adopted a hypothetical-deductive method. The Academic Motivation Scale (EMAV) by Gómez (2019) and the Revised Study Habits Inventory (CASM-85-R) by Vicuña (2005) were administered. The findings indicated that 32% (57) of students were in a negative trend level for study habits, while 33.1% (59) showed a low level of academic motivation. On the other hand, there was a highly significant and direct correlation between the study variables. The dimensions of academic motivation: interest, task/ability, and exams had a significant (p < .05) and highly significant (p < .01) correlation with study habits. It was concluded that, with higher academic motivation scores, study habits scores were proportionally higher in the analyzed sample.Ítem Restringido Relationship between pain perception and attitude against orthodontic treatment in patients treated at the sonríe dental center, Tarapoto, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-10) Pinedo Rojas, Debbra Dhey; Gómez Carrión, Christian EstebanIt is well known today that oral disorders negatively affect both the family and individual levels. From this perspective, the aim of this study is to determine the psychosocial impact of dental aesthetics in 4th and 5th-year secondary education students at Educational Institution № 52094, Puerto Maldonado, 2022. The research will be deductive, meaning that a thought process will be employed in which general statements will be transformed into specific ones using logical rules. It will also be framed under a quantitative, descriptive, correlational, and comparative approach. It is important to note that, due to the nature of the variable represented in the title of this study, the research type will initially be simple descriptive. However, considering some intervening variables, it was deemed appropriate to first analyze the association or independence between the level of psychosocial impact and sociodemographic characteristics, making the study correlational. In the second phase, aiming to specifically compare the psychosocial impact of dental aesthetics in the two student groups, the study will be comparative. The population will consist of 150 students from Educational Institution № 52094, Puerto Maldonado, 2022; of which 90 students are from the 4th year and 60 students from the 5th year. The sample will consist of 63 students selected using simple random sampling when the parameter to estimate is the proportion.
