Ítem Acceso abierto Anxiety and its relationship with physical activity in sedentary patients of a health center in Lima – Peru, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-24) Sanchez Juan, Omar Johan; Diaz Mau, Aimee YajairaAnxiety is a disorder that can be mitigated through physical activity. Sedentary patients who begin regular exercise can experience a significant reduction in anxiety symptoms. Physical activity releases endorphins, which are chemicals that improve mood and reduce stress. Additionally, exercise can serve as a healthy distraction from the worries and negative thoughts that contribute to anxiety.Ítem Acceso abierto Coping with stress and psychological well-being in young people in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima, 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-02-28) Flores Marcos, Steven Virgilio; Candela Ayllón, Victor EduardoThe aim of the research was to understand how stress coping relates to psychological well-being in young people from San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima, 2021. The study used a quantitative approach, employing a descriptive-correlation method and a non-experimental design with a single measurement. The sample consisted of 167 participants who were assessed using the Stress Coping Questionnaire (CAE) and Ryff's Psychological Well-Being Scale. Results showed a significant and direct correlation between problem-focused stress coping and psychological well-being (r = 0.499; p < 0.05), while emotion-focused coping had a significant but inverse correlation (rho = -0.534; p < 0.05). No significant correlation was found between other coping methods and psychological well-being (r = 0.138; p > 0.05). The study concluded that those who cope with stress by focusing on the problem show better psychological well-being, whereas those who focus on emotions tend to have lower well-being.Ítem Acceso abierto Functional capacity and parental stress of children with children’s cerebral palsy in a private center in Arequipa(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-22) Manrique Valdivia, Giannina; Melgarejo Valverde, Jose AntonioThe functional capacity of each child with cerebral palsy, such as assistance with personal hygiene, dressing, eating, and mobility, depends on the type of cerebral palsy and will present a level of stress in parents or caregivers. This stress will affect the family environment on emotional, economic, social, and other levels, causing family strain. Therefore, the aim is to determine the relationship between functional capacity and parental stress.Ítem Acceso abierto Functional Capacity of the Elderly and Overload of the Caregiver of a National Hospital, Pueblo Libre 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-07-06) Hinostroza Ochante, Anita Marybel; Puma Chombo, Jorge EloyThe trend of aging translates into a significant increase in spending on geriatric care. As a result, many countries are striving to meet the growing need for care services for the elderly. This study aims to determine the relationship between functional capacity and cognitive decline in older adults. It will use an applied, correlational, and cross-sectional methodology with the Barthel Index for functional capacity and the Zarit Scale to assess caregiver burden, evaluating a population of 196 individuals (98 older adult patients and 98 caregivers).Ítem Acceso abierto Functional dependency and perceived stress during the covid-19 pandemic in post-cerebrovascular disease patients at a private clinic, Lima-Peru, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-06-28) Tito Torres, Jacqueline Maribel; Melgarejo Valverde, Jose AntonioThrough a study on functional dependence and perceived stress during the COVID-19 pandemic in post-stroke patients, the aim is to gather information on the effects of the pandemic on this population, particularly regarding motor and sensory limitations. These deficiencies, combined with the current pandemic context, could lead to future consequences for stroke patients’ physical, social, and cognitive well-being, resulting in low performance in daily activities. During the mandatory quarantine starting on March 15, 2020, due to COVID-19, many workplaces and healthcare services closed, affecting the mental health of the general population, especially individuals with disabilities. This led to increased stress levels and delays in treatments, affecting recovery.Ítem Acceso abierto Obstructive sleep apnea and burnout syndrome in graduate medical and nursing technologists at the regional hospital of Cusco(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-17) Vasquez Lopez, Armando Jhonny; Chero Pisfil, Santos LucioObstructive sleep apnea syndrome is a common clinical condition when the throat narrows or collapses during sleep. A study conducted at the University of Cantabria suggests that due to high psychological demands in the workplace, individuals experiencing burnout syndrome suffer a decline in daily activities. In recent decades, doctors have studied this syndrome and concluded that the stress levels they experience are high enough to develop burnout syndrome. Both physical and mental health are impacted by work-related stress, with the main consequences being burnout syndrome. The aim is to raise awareness among healthcare workers, especially medical technologists and nurses at the Cusco Regional Hospital, about the problems that could arise from the relationship between obstructive sleep apnea and burnout syndrome. The current situation has reduced rest intervals, increasing stress, fatigue, and exhaustion due to the demanding work of daily life. This will deepen knowledge in the variables of this research project, as well as the role of cardiorespiratory physiotherapy in prevention and assistance, considering obstructive sleep apnea and its effects in relation to burnout syndrome.Ítem Acceso abierto Overload in mothers and functional level of their children with cerebral palsy. San Juan de Dios Clinic. Lima. 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-04-26) Garay Ugaz, Eduardo Martin; Puma Chombo, Jorge EloyMotor disorders in cerebral palsy are often accompanied by sensory, perception, cognition, communication, and behavioral issues, epilepsy, and secondary musculoskeletal problems. Children with chronic problems of this nature are mostly cared for by their mothers. The patient’s low functionality, the hours spent caring, anxiety, depression, and mental health are factors that modulate the moderate overload in female caregivers, reaffirming their vulnerable condition. The objective of the study is to "Determine the relationship between maternal overload and functional level in children with cerebral palsy." The methodology is applied, using a hypothetical-deductive method with a quantitative approach, a non-experimental, correlational, and cross-sectional design. The sample will consist of 80 mothers and their children. The instruments used will be the Zrit Scale for maternal overload and the Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM) for the children’s functional level.Ítem Acceso abierto Perceived stress and sleep quality in Psychology Students of Metropolitan Lima, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-04-30) Davalos Checco, Kelly Lucero; Turriate Chávez, Jairo JaimePerceived stress is based on the perception or evaluation that a person has of a stressful situation. Likewise, psychology students may show various physical, psychological, and behavioral symptoms when it comes to sleep, due to demands or pressures, such as a deterioration in sleep quality, affecting their performance and quality of life. Therefore, the present study aimed to determine the relationship between perceived stress and sleep quality among psychology students from Metropolitan Lima, 2023. The methodology was quantitative, non-experimental, cross-sectional, and correlational. The Perceived Stress Scale (EPGE-13) and the Sleep Quality Scale were applied to a sample of 209 psychology students in Metropolitan Lima. The results show that 80.4% of psychology students have a high level of negative stress, and 82.3% have a medium level of sleep quality. Finally, it was found that perceived stress correlates inversely with sleep quality (rho = -0.450; p = 0.00 < 0.05), meaning that as perceived stress increases, sleep quality decreases.Ítem Acceso abierto Resilience and academic stress in students of the administration school of the Andean University of Cusco - Sicuani branch, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-07-21) Aquino Cervantes, Yanet Udi; Reyes Callahuacho, David TitoThe objective of the research was to determine the relationship between resilience and academic stress in students from the School of Administration of the Andean University of Cusco - Sicuani Branch, 2022. The study was quantitative, basic type, with a correlational level, non-experimental cross-sectional design. A sample of 169 students was surveyed, and they were administered the Resilience Scale and the SISCO Academic Stress Inventory. Statistical analysis was performed using the Spearman correlation coefficient. The results showed that resilience did not correlate significantly (p = 0.195 > 0.05) with academic stress among students from the Andean University of Cusco - Sicuani Branch, 2022. Therefore, the presence of resilience in students does not seem to be linked with the levels of academic stress they may experience. However, different studies consider this variable an important element for adaptation to a high-demand study period, such as university-level education.Ítem Acceso abierto Resilience and depressive symptoms in institutionalized adolescents and young people in religious shelters. Peru - 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-02-28) Quispe Caballero, Yuly; Candela Ayllón, Victor EduardoThe research was developed to determine the correlation between resilience and depressive symptomatology in adolescents and young people institutionalized in religious foster homes in Peru in 2021. It was a study conducted using the hypothetical-deductive method with a quantitative approach, descriptive correlational scope, and a non-experimental cross-sectional design. A total of 122 adolescents and young people were evaluated using the Wagnild and Young Resilience Scale and the Beck Depression Inventory II - adapted (BDI-IIA). The results showed that resilience and depressive symptomatology were highly significantly correlated (p<.001); the association of these variables described a negative slope (rho<0) with moderate-high strength and a large effect size. The study concludes that adolescents who have adequately developed resilience—meaning personal skills to face difficulties and successfully overcome potentially catastrophic problems—experience fewer symptoms associated with depression.Ítem Acceso abierto Resilience and parental stress in parents of children with distance education from an Educational Institution in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho, 202(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-10-28) Ricra Pichilingue, Denisse Aurora; Reyes Callahuacho, David TitoThis research aimed to determine the relationship between resilience and parental stress in parents of children receiving distance education in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho. It was conducted using a quantitative, basic, descriptive-correlational approach with a non-experimental design, and included a sample of 117 parents of children aged 5 to 12 years from a private educational institution. The Resilience Scale (adapted by Castilla et al., 2016) and the Parental Stress Index (adapted by Sánchez, 2015) were used. The results revealed no significant relationship between resilience and parental stress (rho = 0.073; p > 0.05). It was concluded that the personality traits that moderate the negative effects of stress and promote adaptation do not necessarily relate to parents' behaviors when facing their children's demands. In other words, parental stress may arise from various parenting situations, and resilience does not necessarily intervene in this process.Ítem Acceso abierto Risk factors of neurodevelopment and autism spectrum disorder in children at a private rehabilitation center. Lima 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-11-14) Chavesta Ayasta, Lady Diana Vanessa; Puma Chombo, Jorge EloyThis research aims to determine the association between neurodevelopmental risk factors and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). For this, a data registration sheet created by the researcher and the modified M-Chat questionnaire for the detection of autism in young children (M-Chat) validated in Peru will be used. The method is hypothetical-deductive, non-experimental, with a correlational, descriptive cross-sectional design.Ítem Acceso abierto Sleep apnea síndrome and perceived stress in the nursing staff of the Vesalio clinic, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-10-23) Bravo Garro, Diana Carolina; Chero Pisfil, Santos LucioThe emergence of the pandemic has influenced healthcare personnel, making them vulnerable to contagion, workload overload, increased patients, rotating schedules, leading to stress, anxiety, lifestyle changes, particularly affecting sleep quality and related disorders such as insomnia and sleep apnea. This affected more males aged 40-60 years, with a characteristic sign of snoring, and personnel working more than 150 hours per month, with night shifts, leading to various pathologies in nursing staff.Ítem Acceso abierto Strategies for coping with stress and psychological well-being in nursing staff of the INEN emergency service - 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-12-28) Rojas Valdez, Rosa; Tamayo Toro, Mónica AlexandraThe objective of this study was to determine the relationship between coping strategies for stress and psychological well-being in nursing staff working in the emergency service of the INEN during 2019. This was a hypothetical-deductive study with numerical assignment to observable phenomena for quantification, without intentional manipulation of one or more variables, and with a single measurement. The CSI instrument by Tobin (1989) was used for coping strategies, and Ryff's Psychological Well-being Scale (1989) was used for well-being. Findings indicated that, with statistical significance, all strategies except Emotional Expression and Social Withdrawal correlated significantly (p < .05) and directly (rho > 0) with psychological well-being, except for the Problem Avoidance dimension, which showed a significant inverse correlation (p < .05, rho < 0). The study concludes that nursing staff who generally face stressful situations by using cognitive restructuring or focus energy on directly resolving adverse situations or managing social support tend to show greater psychological well-being. Conversely, those who avoid facing problems tend to show less psychological well-being.
