Conocimiento de buenas prácticas de almacenamiento, distribución y transporte en estudiantes de Farmacia y Bioquímica de la Universidad Norbert Wiener del tercer año, Lima setiembre 2021 – abril 2022
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-25) Changana Malqui, Mayra Ivonne; Guimaray Velasquez, Andrea Lucia; Parreño Tipián, Juan Manuel
The general objective of this study was to determine the level of knowledge about good storage, distribution, and transportation practices (GSDTP) among third-year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry at Norbert Wiener University from September 2021 to April 2022. The methodology used was basic, inductive-observational, with a quantitative approach and a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The instrument employed was a 20-question questionnaire administered to 107 third-year students from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry through simple random sampling. The results showed that 53.3% of students had a medium level of knowledge, followed by 27.1% with a high level and 19.6% with a low level of knowledge regarding GSDTP for pharmaceutical products. By dimensions, 70.1% were found to have a low level of knowledge, while only 2.8% had a high level of knowledge in the operational procedures dimension, and 1.9% had a high level in the operational definitions dimension. This indicates that the students of the faculty lack awareness of the important topics and key points in manuals on good storage, distribution, and transportation practices. In conclusion, it was determined that third-year Pharmacy and Biochemistry students have a medium level of knowledge about GSDTP.

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Merino Revilla, Karla Norma; Machaca Rocha, Sandra Beatriz; Crispín Pérez, Víctor
The objective of this study was to determine the level of knowledge and practices regarding the use of emergency oral contraceptives (EOC) among students from the third to the tenth semester of the evening shift at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry of Norbert Wiener University. The study was conducted between August and December 2014. It was an observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional study involving a population of 284 students. To achieve the research objectives, a survey was conducted with a sample of 166 students. The results showed that 112 students (67.47%) were female and 54 (32.53%) were male. Ages ranged from 20 to 50 years; 123 students (74.10%) were single, 42 (25.30%) were married, and 1 (0.6%) was divorced. Regarding knowledge of the EOC mechanism of action, 123 students (74.2%) demonstrated a poor level. Concerning knowledge of EOC side effects, 116 students (69.88%) reached a good level. Furthermore, 151 students (90.96%) showed good knowledge about the time after unprotected sexual intercourse for EOC use (72 hours). Regarding practices related to EOC use, all 166 students (100%) reported having used the EOC. They demonstrated appropriate practices regarding the reasons for using the EOC. Additionally, 150 students (90.36%) reported using a regular or alternative contraceptive method after taking the EOC, reflecting appropriate practices. The main reasons for frequent EOC use among students were the ease of accessing a pharmacy quickly, lack of time, and insufficient funds for medical consultations. Consequently, 142 students (85.54%) reported using the EOC without a medical prescription, reflecting inadequate practice levels.

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Pebe Bendezu, Lili Lorena; Quispe Oyarce, Santos Fredelina; Herencia Torres, Victor Reynaldo
The present research aimed to determine the use of drug information sources consulted by interns from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry (pre-professional practices, second level) at Norbert Wiener University during the first semester of 2014. Materials and Methods. This was an observational, descriptive, and cross-sectional study. The study included 100% (63) of the interns from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry, obtained from a stratified sample. Data analysis was carried out using SPSS version 21 and Microsoft Excel. Results. Regarding the drug information sources most frequently consulted by the interns during their pre-professional practices, it was found that the most used primary sources were Journal of Evidence-Based Healthcare (30%) and JAMA (22%). Among secondary sources, the most frequently consulted were Medline (52%) and PubMed (40%). The most consulted tertiary sources were The Merck Manual Online (52%) and Meyler’s (35%). Likewise, the most consulted drug information centers were CENADIM (51%) and CIM-Wiener (27%). Conclusion. It was determined that the drug information sources used by the interns were primarily for academic and professional development purposes. Interns from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry accessed these drug information sources responsibly, through available and widely accepted websites. Therefore, the implementation of the CIM-Wiener for drug information searches is considered appropriate, although further instruction is necessary to ensure that searches are conducted quickly and responsibly given their complexity.

Métodos anticonceptivos usados por estudiantes de la Facultad de Farmacia y Bioquímica de la Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener. Lima 2021-2
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-07-07) Valdivia Quispe, Lorena Carolina; López Valencia, Desireé Rossana; Cano Pérez, Carlos Alfredo
A group of students don't use contraceptives despite being sexually active, while others, to a lesser extent, use traditional methods that aren't sufficiently safe. This is a problem that needs to be addressed, so the objective was to analyze the contraceptive methods used by students of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry at the Norbert Wiener Private University in Lima during the 2021-2 period. This was a quantitative, descriptive study with a cross-sectional observational design, in which 238 students participated. The descriptive analysis of the qualitative variables was based on a simple random probabilistic sampling and a 13-question questionnaire. It was concluded that 68% of the students used modern contraceptive methods, while 22% used traditional methods. At the same time, 10% of sexually active female students of childbearing age have either not used a contraceptive method or have used an unsafe traditional method. This suggests a population with a very high risk of contracting sexually transmitted diseases and facing future pregnancies.

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-04-04) Velita Robles, Richard Heston; Rodriguez Vila, Maribel Verónica
The objective of this research was to determine the level of knowledge regarding Peruvian regulations for the sanitary registration of medical devices among ninth-cycle undergraduate students and second-specialty postgraduate students in regulatory affairs at the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry of Universidad Norbert Wiener. This observational, cross-sectional study was conducted over a three-month period, from December 2017 to February 2018, in classroom settings. Surveys were administered to both undergraduate and postgraduate students, and a total of 65 completed surveys were obtained. The questions were based on current Peruvian regulatory frameworks. The results obtained indicate the following: For Law No. 29459, among undergraduate students, 63.2% demonstrated a deficient level of knowledge, 26.3% a regular level, and 10.5% an optimal level, with none achieving an excellent level. Among postgraduate students, 25.0% demonstrated a deficient level, 50.0% a regular level, 5.3% deficient level, 8.8% optimal, and 1.8% excellent. Another evaluation among postgraduate students showed 75.0% deficient level, none regular, 12.5% optimal, and 12.5% excellent. Regarding Amendments to the law, 77.2% of undergraduate students exhibited a deficient level, 14.0% a regular level, 8.8% optimal, and none excellent. Among postgraduate students, 87.5% were deficient, 12.5% regular, with none at the optimal or excellent levels. For TUPA regulations, undergraduate students scored 52.6% deficient, 35.1% regular, none optimal, and 12.3% excellent. Postgraduate students scored 37.5% deficient, 62.5% regular, with none achieving optimal or excellent levels. Finally, regarding the knowledge of sanitary registration regulations for medical devices, 82.5% of undergraduate students demonstrated a deficient level, 15.8% regular, 1.8% optimal, and none excellent. Among postgraduate students, 75.0% were deficient and 25.0% regular, with none achieving optimal or excellent levels. In conclusion, the study demonstrates that both undergraduate and postgraduate students have predominantly deficient knowledge regarding Peruvian regulations for medical device registration, with only a small percentage achieving regular or optimal levels. These findings highlight the need for enhanced training and educational initiatives in regulatory affairs within the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry.
