Effectiveness of dry needle on myofascial pain in patients with quadradus Lumbar Myofascial Syndrome at a Rehabilitation Medical Center in the City of Huamanga- Ayacucho 2022
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-06-02) Sanchez Chamorro, Angel Marco; Arrieta Córdova, Andy Freud
According to the World Health Organization, musculoskeletal disorders are the leading cause of disability worldwide, affecting approximately 1.71 billion people with musculoskeletal injuries. The most common musculoskeletal injuries are low back pain, which is the leading cause of disability. Peru is no exception, with at least one million workers suffering from this condition in the lumbar region of the spine, often due to their work activities. According to Lacuey Barrachina et al., "Low back pain can be defined as a musculoskeletal syndrome where the main symptom is pain in the lumbar spine, which may or may not radiate to other regions, ultimately affecting normal mobility in the area." Myofascial pain is a musculoskeletal pain most commonly found in the lumbar region, with high prevalence at some point in life. Myofascial syndrome is a set of signs and symptoms in the muscle, causing the muscle to develop tight, painful bands. The syndrome of the quadratus lumborum muscle is the most frequent cause of myofascial low back pain. Dry needling treatment is increasingly recognized in the treatment of low back pain, improving functional disability associated with pain. As for dry needling, it is a safe, minimally invasive technique used by physical therapists to treat patients with myofascial trigger points. Objectives: To determine the effectiveness of dry needling for myofascial pain in patients with quadratus lumborum myofascial syndrome. Materials and methods: This study follows a hypothetical-deductive method with a quantitative, applied, quasi-experimental, longitudinal design, and comparative scope. To measure the effectiveness of dry needling, techniques such as ENA and UDP will be used.

Effectiveness of non-pharmacological management in reducing pain in patients with fibromyalgia.
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-08) Chávez Mendoza, Valerie Ruth Stephany; Rivera Lozada de Bonilla, Oriana
Systematic Review, unit of analysis, original primary studies. Databases: Intramed, PubMed. Ten articles were selected, of which 80% were high-quality systematic reviews and meta-analyses from countries such as China, Israel, the United States, Brazil, and Australia. The remaining 20% were clinical trial articles from the United States. Results: The 10 articles revealed that 80% (8/10) of the authors agree that the use of norepinephrine in patients with septic shock resulted in fewer adverse cardiac events and reduced arrhythmia rates compared to dopamine use. Conclusions: The reviewed articles show that norepinephrine is more effective than dopamine in treating septic shock, as it does not present adverse effects, such as cardiac arrhythmias, and is associated with lower mortality rates. In contrast, dopamine is less effective compared to norepinephrine due to its adverse effects like arrhythmias and increased mortality.

Effectiveness of non-pharmacological management to reduce pain in patients with fibromyalgia.
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-08) Sanchez Manrique, Ketty Leonisa; Chávez Mendoza, Valerie Ruth Stephany; Rivera Lozada de Bonilla, Oriana
Objective: To systematize and evidence the efficacy of kidney transplantation in the reduction of the risk of graft loss for survival in pediatric patients. Materials and Methods: The study is quantitative, with a systematic review design. The population consisted of 39 articles that were reviewed, and 10 scientific articles were selected as the sample. Of these, 20% (n=2/10) were systematic reviews, 10% (n=1/10) were systematic review and meta-analysis, and 70% (n=7/10) were cohort studies. According to the quality of evidence, 30% was rated as high and 70% as moderate. In terms of the strength of recommendations, 30% were strong and 70% were weak, based on the country where the research was conducted. Results: The reviewed articles show that 40% (n=4/10) indicate the efficacy of renal replacement therapy in the risk of graft loss for survival in pediatric patients. Another 40% (n=4/10) state that it is partially effective, and 20% (n=2/10) state it is not effective. Conclusion: It is concluded that 40% (n=4/10) indicates that renal replacement therapy is partially effective in the risk of graft loss for survival in pediatric patients.
