Objective: To determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and application of antifungal susceptibility testing in invasive candidiasis, performed by Clinical Laboratory Medical Technologists in hospitals in Lima Metropolitan area. Material and method: A non-experimental, quantitative, cross-sectional, observational study was conducted, surveying 51 Medical Technologists working in the clinical microbiology service. Results: 60.8% worked in the public sector and 39.2% in the private sector; 57.0% had received training on the execution and interpretation of antifungal susceptibility tests; 59.0% were unaware of the epidemiological frequency at their health establishment; 66.7% had a low/regular level of knowledge about antifungal testing; 60.8% applied the antifungal test. Conclusion: A significant relationship exists between the level of knowledge and the application of antifungal testing in invasive candidiasis by Clinical Laboratory Medical Technologists in Lima Metropolitan area (p < 0.005, 95% CI).
