Degradation of forces of intermaxillary latex elastics in different time intervals

The objective was to compare the force degradation in vitro of different brands of latex intermaxillary elastics. Materials and Methods: The study was experimental in vitro. The sample consisted of 90 latex intermaxillary elastics of 6.0 oz and 5/16 inches from the brands Morelli, Orthometric, and GAC (30 from each commercial brand). Acrylic bases were made, into which metallic pins were inserted to keep the elastics stretched at a distance of 15 mm. These pins then stretched the elastics to a constant distance of 24 mm. The force of the elastics was measured using a digital universal testing machine. Force measurements were taken at the beginning, and after 12 and 24 hours. The relationship between variables was determined using Student's t-test, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, ANOVA, and Kruskal-Wallis. Results: It was found that all three commercial brands showed a significant decrease in their forces at all time intervals (P: 0.000). When comparing the groups, Orthometric elastics showed the least force decrease at all time intervals (P: 0.000), while Morelli and GAC showed no significant differences (P > 0.05). Conclusion: All three commercial brands showed a significant decrease in their forces over time.

Effectiveness of pillows in reducing cervical thoracic pain and improving sleep in workers

Objective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of pillows in reducing cervical thoracic pain and improving sleep in workers. Material and methods: The type of quantitative research, the study design is a systematic review, the population was 176 articles, and the sample was 10 scientific articles published and indexed in scientific databases, the instrument was a search based on Data: Pubmed, Epistemonikos, MEDLINE For the evaluation of the articles, the GRADE system was used, which evaluated the quality of evidence and the strength of recommendation. Results: The 100% articles correspond to the United States 10%, Thailand 10%, Australia 20%, China 20%, South Korea 20% and Italy 20%. In relation to the designs and types of studies, 90% were randomized controlled trials, 10% were retrospective comparative trials and 10% were systematic reviews. Conclusion: It was concluded that 100% of authors point out the effectiveness of the use of pillows of all types that allow the reduction of cervical thoracic pain and the improvement of sleep in workers within their home, taking into account the shape or latex design. or viscoelastic, made of cool material, the height and dimension of the layers that can provide comfort.

Ergonomic risk factors and disability due to low back pain in workers in the production area of a company in the industrial sector, 2022

Objective: Determine the relationship between ergonomic risk factors and disability due to low back pain in workers in the production area of a company in the industrial sector, 2022. Material and method: Applied, correlational-non-experimental research, the sampling unit will be composed of 50 collaborators from the production area, in the tempera production and latex production sectors, from the industrial sector company. The data collection will be applied questionnaires developed by the researchers Páez Zaruma, Ravelo Sheyla and validated by the Crombach's Alpha coefficient through an expert judgment in 2019, for the participation of the workers, informed consent will be used, to analyze the The data will be entered into the Stata 14 program, which will allow the relative frequency variables obtained to be identified. For the quantitative variables, tables and graphs will be generated with their respective interpretation, using the non-parametric Chi-square test.

Relación entre el uso de guantes de látex y las manifestaciones alérgicas cutáneas en los alumnos de la Universidad Norbert Wiener en el semestre 2024-II

El estudio presento como objetivo general determinar la relación entre el uso de guantes de látex y las manifestaciones alérgicas cutáneas en los alumnos de la Universidad Norbert Wiener del semestre 2024-II, el estudio fue de tipo correlacional, cuantitativo y prospectivo, donde a través de la técnica de la encuesta y la utilización de un cuestionario previamente validado y confiable compuesto de 13 preguntas se estableció la medición de las variables uso de guantes y manifestaciones cutáneas en una muestra de 235 alumnos según la covariables sexo, grupo etario y periodo académico. Los resultados inferenciales fueron que según el sexo se obtuvo (p = 0.023), grupo etario (p = 0.603) y el periodo académico (p = 0.039), además de la significancia fue de p = 0.042 ˂ 0.05. Con lo que se concluye que existe una relación entre el uso de guantes de látex y las manifestaciones alérgicas cutáneas en los alumnos de la Universidad Norbert Wiener del semestre 2024-II.
