Adherence to treatment and quality of life in people with high blood pressure living in an area of San Martin de Porres, 2021

The objective was to determine the relationship between treatment adherence and quality of life in people with arterial hypertension who live in an area of San Martin de Porres, 2021. Materials and methods: This study was quantitative, its methodological design was correlational-cross-sectional. The sample consisted of 114 participants. The data collection technique was the survey and the instruments used to measure the variables were the Morisky Green Scale and the MINICHAL Questionnaire. Results: Of the 114 participants, 70.2% were female (n = 80) and their average age was 50.61 years. Regarding the general hypothesis, it was found that there is a significant relationship between adherence to treatment and quality of life (p <0.05). According to the specific hypotheses, there is a significant relationship between adherence to treatment according to its dimension of frequency of taking medications and quality of life (p<0.05) and finally, there is a significant relationship between adherence to treatment according to its dimension of mood with the evolution of the disease and quality of life (p<0.05).

Effective interventions for tuberculosis control in contacts

Systematic Reviews are an observational and retrospective research design that synthesizes the results of multiple primary studies. They are an essential part of evidence-based medicine due to their rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions in clinical practice. The systematic review of the six scientific articles on effective interventions for tuberculosis control was conducted through the following databases: Cochrane Plus, Lilacs, Scielo, and Lipecs. All of them correspond to quantitative research and systematic review study designs (one), quasi-experimental (one), and cross-sectional (four studies). The articles included in this academic work agree that the evidence is insufficient to demonstrate whether active case-finding programs or screening for tuberculosis will improve the diagnosis rate among contacts of tuberculosis patients or reduce the tuberculosis rate in the community. Public managers should implement health policies considering other competing priorities for the limited available health resources. This approach has led to markedly different strategies in countries with low and high prevalence.

Effectiveness of combination therapy in disease control in patients with type II diabetes mellitus.

Materials and Methods: A systematic observational and retrospective review of the articles reviewed, subjected to an analysis using the GRADE evaluation system to identify the degree of evidence, found in the following databases: Google Scholar, SciELO, Medline, and PubMed. In the selection, 10 articles were chosen, of which 20% (2/10) correspond to the methodological design of systematic reviews, another 20% (2/10) are of the cohort design, and randomized clinical trials, while only 10% (1/10) corresponds to the designs of quasi-experimental, pre-experimental, quasi-experimental, and case-control studies. Results: Of the 10 articles reviewed, 50% (N=5/10) show the effectiveness of physical activity, 20% (N=2/10) show the effectiveness of diet therapy, another 20% (N=2/10) show the effectiveness of a combined therapy (pharmacotherapy, diet therapy, and physical activity), and only 10% (N=1/10) show the effectiveness of diet therapy and physical activity in patients with type II diabetes mellitus for disease control. Conclusions: It can be concluded, according to the selected scientific articles, that combined therapy (pharmacological, nutritional, and physical activity therapy) is effective for disease control in patients with type II diabetes mellitus.

Effectiveness of educational intervention to improve adherence to oral medication in cancer patients

This work aims to systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of educational interventions to improve oral medication adherence in oncology patients. Recently, oral cancer agents are becoming increasingly part of treatment regimens, with many new agents only available in oral form. Of the 10 articles reviewed, 70% are systematic reviews, and 30% are of moderate quality. 100% indicate that educational interventions are effective in improving oral medication adherence in oncology patients. This evidence demonstrates how adherence to oral cancer treatments has been enhanced. Previously, patients had to visit specialized centers for medical-nursing support in medication administration, but now these treatments can be performed at home, nursing homes, etc. Additionally, oral cancer agents are often more manageable and convenient for patients. This paradigm shift in adherence to oral cancer treatments implies greater responsibility for healthcare teams and family support.

Estilo de vida y adherencia farmacoterapéutica en usuarios con hipertensión arterial que acuden a la botica “d y b” en el distrito de Carabayllo - Lima, 2024

Introducción: el aumento de enfermedades del sistema cardiovascular en personas de avanzada edad ha elevado la mortalidad en los últimos tiempos, con proyecciones de un incremento del 80% para el 2030. La hipertensión arterial, uno de los componentes claves y predisponentes para enfermedades coronarias, es prevenible con un estilo de vida saludable, además de ir en conjunto con una adherencia farmacoterapéutica idónea, motivando a desarrollar estrategias de intervención culturalmente adecuadas para su prevención global. Objetivo: determinar la relación entre el estilo de vida y la adherencia farmacoterapéutica en usuarios con hipertensión arterial que acuden a la botica “D y B” en el distrito de Carabayllo – Lima, 2024. Metodología: la investigación es básica de alcance hipotético – deductivo. Los participantes del estudio se constituyen en una población entre 35 a 75 años, con hipertensión arterial, tomando 150 adultos como muestra, quienes acuden a la botica “D y B”. Se realizará una encuesta de 26 preguntas como técnica de recolección de datos. Resultados: de 150 participantes encuestados, el 53% de ellos mantiene hábitos poco saludables, otro 40% sigue un estilo de vida bueno y un 7% mantiene un estilo de vida regular. Por otro lado, el 53% de participantes tiene una adherencia terapéutica mala, mientras el 46% manifiesta una buena adherencia y un 1% indica mala adherencia. Además, las variables de estudio se correlacionan significativamente (p<0.01). Conclusión: existe relación entre el estilo de vida y la adherencia farmacoterapéutica en usuarios con hipertensión arterial.

Factores asociados a la adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en pacientes con artritis reumatoide en el policlínico Las Salinas, Chilca - Lima 2023

La presente investigación se propuso determinar la relación entre los factores asociados y la adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en pacientes con artritis reumatoide. Para ello, se empleó el método hipotético-deductivo, con un enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo básica y alcance correlacional. El diseño fue no experimental y de corte transversal. El estudio se realizó con una muestra de 103 pacientes con artritis reumatoide atendidos en el consultorio de reumatología del policlínico Las Salinas Chilca - Lima. La muestra se seleccionó a partir de una población de 140 pacientes, utilizando criterios de inclusión y exclusión. Se aplicaron encuestas a los participantes para recopilar información sobre las variables de interés. Para determinar la relación entre las variables, se utilizó la prueba estadística no paramétrica Rho de Spearman. Resultados: El 73,8% de los pacientes fueron del sexo femenino. El grupo etario más representativo fue de 40 a 49 años de edad, que estuvo conformado por el 43,7%. De los 103 encuestados, el 58,3% (n=60) presentaron adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico. Como resultado de la correlación entre los factores asociados con la adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico, se obtuvo que la relación es directa y significativa (p=0,000; r=0,592). Conclusiones: Se concluye que los factores mencionados en el estudio si influyen directamente en la adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico, se encontró una relación positiva moderada.

Factores asociados en pacientes crónicos con diabetes mellitus tipo II y frecuencia de adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en el Centro Materno Infantil José Gálvez 2024

El estudio tuvo como objetivo “determinar la relación entre los factores asociados en pacientes con diabetes mellitus tipo II y la adherencia al tratamiento farmacológico en el Centro Materno Infantil José Gálvez en 2024”. Se utilizó un método hipotético-deductivo con enfoque cualitativo, empleando entrevistas cerradas y el Test de Morisky-Green. La investigación fue aplicada, con un diseño observacional, descriptivo y correlacional. La muestra incluyó 132 pacientes mayores de 45 años del Programa de Crónicos, seleccionados mediante muestreo aleatorio simple. Para la recolección de datos, se aplicaron una guía de observación, el Test de Morisky-Green y un cuestionario estructurado. La validez de los instrumentos se garantizó con el método Delphi y la confiabilidad con el alfa de Cronbach (0,60). Los resultados mostraron un coeficiente de asociación Phi (φ= -0,276), indicando una baja asociación entre los factores analizados y la adherencia al tratamiento, aunque la relación fue significativa (p= 0,002 < 0,05). Se concluyó que, aunque los factores asociados influyen en la adherencia, su impacto es limitado, sugiriendo la necesidad de explorar otros elementos que podrían influir en el cumplimiento del tratamiento.

Knowledge of mothers about vaccination and compliance with the vaccination schedule in children under 5 years of age in a Health Center in Lima. February 2022

Objective: The research objective is to determine the knowledge of nursing professionals in the initial management of patients with severe traumatic brain injury in emergency services at a National Hospital in Lima - 2021. Material and Methods: This study will be quantitative, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The population will consist of 60 nursing professionals working in the emergency department of a National Hospital in Lima. The nursing professionals participating will be selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria outlined in the research. The technique used in this research will be the survey, through which important data will be collected in an efficient and effective manner. To measure the knowledge of nursing professionals in the initial management of patients with severe traumatic brain injury, the data collection instrument by Laura A. and Paco S. will be used. This instrument consists of 29 items, divided into 3 dimensions: neurological assessment, hemodynamic evaluation, and drug administration, providing values using the Stanines Scale (high, medium, and low).

Level of knowledge of mothers about immunization and compliance with the vaccination schedule in children under 5 years of age in a Maternal and Child Center, Lima 2022.

Worldwide, infants are the most vulnerable to contracting diseases, the vast majority of which can be prevented through immunization, being an important activity within the framework of Public Health. The coverage shows that not all children under 5 years of age are fully vaccinated, probably due to mothers' lack of knowledge about immunizations, and therefore, non-compliance with the vaccination schedule. Objective: To relate the level of knowledge of mothers about immunizations and compliance with the vaccination schedule of children under 5 years of age at a Maternal and Child Center, Lima 2022. Material and method: The approach will be quantitative, non-experimental design, descriptive correlational and cross-sectional. The population will be made up of 140 mothers and the sample of 103 mothers who attend the Maternal and Child Center. To measure the variable of the level of knowledge, the questionnaire that calculates the knowledge of mothers about immunization will be used, prepared by Melo M, with a validity of p 0.00352 and reliability of 0.796 measured by Crombach's Alpha. To evaluate compliance, a checklist will be applied through observation, which responds to a Magisterial Resolution No. 141 - MINSA / 2018 / DGIESP, prepared by the Ministry of Health of Peru. The instrument and the checklist will be completed in person, before informed consent. A descriptive and correlational statistical analysis will be performed.
