Objective: To describe how knowledge is related to the practice of nurses on the kangaroo mother method in a public hospital in Huancayo 2021. This research is important to have better strategies in the kangaroo mother method since through education on child care Nursing contributes to the adaptation of the environment and reduces complications. Methodology: A correlational and cross-sectional design study will be carried out with the questionnaire to measure the level of knowledge and the observation guide for practices, applying it in person to the nurses of the NICU service. The population will consist of 25 nurses from the neonatology area of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit service, with the sample consisting of 25 nurses from the NICU service.
