Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of magnesium sulfate in the treatment of asthma attacks in pediatric patients(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-01-06) Gonzales Cruz, Cinthya Patricia; Chávez Rios, Martina; Pérez Siguas, Rosa EvaObjectives: Analyze and systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of magnesium sulfate in the treatment of asthmatic attacks in pediatric patients. Material and Methods: Systematic reviews, double-blind randomized trial, articles were analyzed and criticized; Choosing 10 articles where 70% are systematic reviews and 30% double-blind controlled trials; in countries such as 30% China, 20% United Kingdom, 20% USA, 10% Argentina, 10% Canada and 10% Brazil. Results: Of the articles analyzed, 80% stated that magnesium sulfate is effective in the treatment of asthmatic attacks in pediatric patients and 20% did not find a significant improvement in lung function or a decrease in hospital admissions during the asthmatic crisis. Conclusions: It was evident in the scientific articles reviewed that the use of magnesium sulfate during asthma attacks improves lung function and reduces hospital admissions in pediatric patients.Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge about the management of the port-a-cath catheter and nursing practice of the pediatric service in an Essalud Hospital, Lima, 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-04-07) Blas Carbajal, Dora Emperatriz; Morillo Acasio, Berlina del RosarioThis research aims to: Determine how knowledge about the management of the PortA-Cath catheter is related to the nursing practice of the pediatric service of a hospital in Essalud, Lima, 2024. The population will be made up of 90 nurses who work in the pediatric service of a hospital in Essalud, Lima, 2024. The population will be comprised of 80 nursing professionals from the pediatric hospitalization service of the Alberto Sabogal Hologuren Hospital, which will serve as a sample. Methodological design: The type of research will be applied. The method will be hypothetical deductive. The design will be non-experimental, transversal, descriptive and correlational. Instruments: To evaluate the variable "Level of knowledge", the questionnaire validated by Tito will be applied in 2021 with a reliability of 0.7242 using Cronbach's Alpha and to evaluate the variable "Handwashing adherence" the questionnaire validated by Cóndor in 2019 with a reliability of 0.895 using Cronbach's Alpha. The data collection technique will be the survey. The population will consist of 140 parents from pediatric areas of a hospital in central Lima. The sample will be made up of 103 parents from pediatric areas. The data collection technique will be the survey, and the instruments used for the fieldwork will be questionnaires on care quality and parent satisfaction.
