Ítem Acceso abierto Adherence to the institutional hand-washing protocol in the operating room of a private clinic in Breña.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Ochante Minaya, Melisa Madeleine; Solis Mendoza, Angel David; Chávez Flores, Erik MarioAdherence to the handwashing protocol in the Operating Room before and after the surgical procedure is of utmost importance and must be done correctly. This led to the investigation of the following question: What is the level of adherence to the institutional handwashing protocol among healthcare personnel in the Operating Room of a private clinic in Breña (Lima-Peru)? The study was quantitative, descriptive-explanatory, and prospective. The study population consisted of 100 healthcare professionals (Surgeons, Anesthesiologists, Nurses, and Nursing Technicians). The data collection technique used was Participant Observation, with three observations made for each sample element. The instrument used was a Checklist validated by Expert Judges, and reliability was assessed using the Test-Retest method (0.836 Before and 0.909 After the surgical intervention). The overall results show that 83% of the staff demonstrate medium and high adherence to the handwashing protocol before the surgical procedure (71% and 12%, respectively), and 70% show medium and high adherence after the surgical procedure (45% and 25%, respectively). The analysis of the results by strata predominantly shows medium adherence among surgeons, nurses, and nursing technicians, while anesthesiologists show an even distribution of low and medium adherence levels before and after the surgical procedure.Ítem Acceso abierto Application of biosecurity measures for nursing personnel against biological risks present in the surgical center service of EsSalud, Cañete, 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-03-07) Espinoza Cardenas, Lucia del Rosario; Cárdenas de Fernández, María HildaNursing is the profession that cares for all phases of a human being's life, but it is in the Surgical Center where they are most vulnerable and where physical integrity must prevail reciprocally, which is why they are exposed to the transmission of microorganism, directly or indirectly, which must be protected with biological, physical and chemical barriers. Although national and international organizations have established biosafety measures for work practices, risks continue to increase. Objective: Determine the application of the biosafety measures of Nursing Personnel against the Biological Risks present in the Surgical Center service, of ESSALUD - Cañete, 2021. Methodological Design: It has a quantitative approach, it will be descriptive, a non-experimental, prospective and finally cross-sectional design. We will begin to collect data, once the COVID-19 pandemic is stable and controlled in our country, the procedures related to authorization will be implemented. The following aspects were considered in the study: conventional data, taking into account its classification in 3 dimensions, including physical barriers, chemical barriers and elimination of sharp and/or contaminated materials.Ítem Acceso abierto Biosafety measures and occupational risks in nursing professionals at the surgical center, Hipólito Unanue hospital 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-09-17) De Los Santos Tucto, Wendy Cindy; Fernández Rengifo, Werther FernandoObjective: To determine the relationship between self-compliance with biosafety measures and the perception of occupational risks in nursing professionals. Methods: we will work with an applied methodology of correlational cross-section, of quantitative nature, we will work with 85 nurses as a sample where they will solve two questionnaires. After its application, data can be collected that will be coded and recorded in a data matrix that will receive through the Spss 25.0 program a statistical analysis, with a descriptive and inferential technique, the latter being through the Spearman test that will serve to corroborate the veracity of the hypotheses raised.Ítem Acceso abierto Biosafety standards in the care of patients used by health personnel of the surgical center of the Hospital Arzobispo Loayza, ward 6- II, Lima, 2021(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-02-07) Ayala Escriba , Evelyn Rosse Mary; Mori Castro, Jaime AlbertoIntroduction: According to the WHO (World Health Organization), biosafety standards are those rules and health guidelines implemented to address the well-being and safety of professionals who face dangers of organic, synthetic and contact origin. Additionally, hydrogen cyanide (3-51 parts per million), acetylene (2-8 parts per million), and 1,3-butadiene (0.15-0.69 parts per million) were identified in the plume. These chemical compounds can trigger harmful effects on the human body, including cancer and respiratory symptoms such as pharyngeal burning, nasal congestion, nausea, and headaches. Therefore, exposure to and inhalation of this smoke affects the health of operating room personnel, depending on the duration of exposure and the type of surgery performed, leading to long-term consequences.Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of manual washing versus automatic washing in the disinfection of surgical instruments(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-09) Gonzaga Ramírez, Gladys Marlene; Yancul Carrillo, Elva Rosa; Gómez Gonzales, Walter EdgarObjective: Determine the effectiveness of manual washing versus automatic washing in the disinfection of surgical instruments. Material and methods: Systematic review that synthesizes the results of primary research. Like all systematic reviews, it is an essential part of evidence-based nursing due to its rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions in articles. Results: It was found that 50% of the articles consider that automated washing is more effective than manual washing; 16.67% of the articles found effectiveness in the sterilization of surgical instruments, when manual and automatic washing are combined; 16.67% found that one of the contributing effects to produce adverse effects is incorrect cleaning and/or disinfection and a similar percentage found that it is necessary to improve the quality of cleaning and disinfection in surgery rooms and measure the biological load by photoluminometry in instruments. reuse surgical Conclusions: Automatic washing is more effective than manual washing.Ítem Acceso abierto Efficacy of perioperative high oxygen inspiration therapy in reducing surgical site infection in operating room patients(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-02-29) Porta Ortiz, Katherine Yuriko; Sipán Lavado, Jaqueline Noemí; Cárdenas de Fernández, María HildaObjective: Systematize the evidence of the effectiveness of perioperative high oxygen inspiration therapy to reduce surgical site infection in patients in the operating room. Material and Methods: the study was a systematic review of 10 scientific articles published and indexed in scientific databases and that respond to articles published in Spanish, Italian, Swiss Danish and English. Results: 60% of the evidence (n=6/10) indicates that supplementary perioperative oxygenation is beneficial to prevent surgical site infection. On the other hand, 40% of the evidence (n=4/10) says that perioperative high oxygen inspiration therapy was generally not beneficial in preventing surgical site infection. Conclusion: In 6 of the 10 articles, the effectiveness of perioperative high inspiration oxygen therapy to reduce surgical site infection in patients in the operating room is evidenced, while in 4 of the 10 articles there is no solid evidence of a Beneficial effect of high inspiration oxygen therapy.Ítem Acceso abierto Factors associated with vascular lesions and prevention in nursing graduates of the surgical center of a public hospital in Lima(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-08-27) González Cisneros, Yolaiza Del Valle; Palomino Taquire, RewardsThe objective of this study is to determine the relationship between the factors associated with vascular injuries and prevention in nursing graduates of the surgical center of a public hospital in Lima.
