Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship between two anthropometric studies regarding the occlusal vertical dimension of young patients from a teaching clinic in Lima, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-07-12) Alzamora Alvarado, Roxana Vilma; Gómez Carrión, Christian EstebanThe purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between two anthropometric studies regarding the occlusal vertical dimension (OVD) of young dentate patients at a teaching clinic in Lima, 2023. A non-experimental, quantitative, correlational, and cross-sectional methodology was used, with a sample of 109 patients from the dental clinic of Universidad Norbert Wiener (UNW), Lima. The results revealed that regarding the relationship between the two anthropometric studies and the OVD of young dentate patients, the OVD had an average of 44.5mm. In the anthropometric study of hand fingers, the index finger had an average of 62.1mm, the pinky 44.5mm, and the index-thumb distance 64.3mm. In the anthropometric study of the auricular pavilion, the right side had an average of 61.6mm and the left side 62.3mm, verifying that the averages of the pinky finger are closer to the OVD. The statistical analysis demonstrated a significant relationship between the studied variables (p=0.00) with a Pearson coefficient between the OVD and the hand fingers ranging from 0.440 to 0.515, and between the OVD and the auricular pavilion ranging from 0.385 to 0.355. It is concluded that there is a moderate relationship between the two anthropometric studies regarding the OVD of young dentate patients at a teaching clinic in Lima, 2023.
