The research has a qualitative approach, using the inductive method and the semi-structured interview as an instrument, which was conducted with 8 mining engineering students from a private university in Lima. The results obtained indicated that some teachers in the mining engineering specialty lack pedagogical skills in the development of class sessions because they do not have teacher training; they also pointed out that the teaching-learning process is more oriented towards theoretical rather than practical development, the teaching-learning strategies and the evaluation system used by some teachers are poorly aligned with the competency requirements of the graduate profile, which is not updated because some courses develop topics based on conventional mining and do not respond to the demands of the future.
