Determination of the safe disinfectant Orthophthaldehyde versus Glutaraldehyde used by nurses in the High Level Disinfection Process
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-09) Idrogo Maita, Zaida Karina; Ruiz Campos, Deysi; Gómez Gonzales, Walter Edgar
Objectives: Determine the safe disinfectant Orthophthaldehyde vs glutaraldehyde to be used by nurses in the high-level disinfection process. Materials and Methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review, the search has been restricted to 8 articles with full text, and the selected articles were subjected to critical reading. Published and indexed in scientific databases, dating back to the year 2000 and responding to articles published in Spanish, English and Portuguese. In the final selection, 4 articles were chosen, we found that 25% (01) corresponds to England, with 25% (01) to Spain, with 25% (01) to Brazil and while another 25% (01) we find Japan; Two systematic reviews and two cross-sectional studies were included. Results: 80% of the articles reviewed show that glutaraldehyde, compared to orthophthaldehyde, is the one that produces the most cytotoxicity at work, but that orthophthalaldehyde is still toxic. Orthophthaldehyde vs glutaraldehyde, in both cases its greatest adverse reaction when used is in the respiratory tract Conclusion: of the liquid chemical substances used as high-level disinfectants Orthophthaldehyde vs Glutaraldehyde It was evident that Glutaraldehyde is a volatile product that emanates cytotoxic substances causing effects adverse effects on the person who handles it, while Orthophthaldehyde, being exposed through inhalation, turns out to be a sensitizing this. The direct handling of high-level disinfectant substances focuses exposure on the inhalation route, requiring the use of personal protective equipment.

Factors that determine adherence to the use of personal protective equipment based on risk in healthcare workers
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017) Sandoval Coronado, Norma Yolanda; Saucedo Díaz, María Esther; Gómez Gonzales, Walter Edgar
Objective: To establish the factors determining adherence to personal protective equipment use, according to risk, among healthcare workers. Materials and Methods: Systematic review of scientific literature from databases such as SciELO, Enfermagen, and the National Journal of Medical Sciences. Results: A total of 10 articles were obtained using inclusion and exclusion criteria, and an analysis of quality and access to full text. Of these, 20% (2) were studies from Spain, 40% (4) from Brazil, 20% (2) from India, 10% (1) from Colombia, and 10% (1) from Africa. These studies focused on various healthcare professionals, including nurses, doctors, nursing and medical students, laboratory technicians, and sterilization center staff. Conclusions: Barriers to adherence to personal protective equipment use included organizational, administrative, individual, and interpersonal factors, which were expressed through physical infrastructure, lack of routines, workload overload, stress, improvisation, and strained work relationships.

Knowledge of biosafety standards and their relationship with the use of protective equipment in nurses at the Surgical Center of a private clinic
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-08-27) Quinde Barzola, Ana Maria; Camarena Chamaya, Luis Miguel
The present research project will have as a general objective: To determine the relationship of knowledge of biosafety standards and its relationship with the use of protective equipment in nurses at the Surgical Center of a private clinic in Lima, 2023. The population will be composed for 80 nurses currently working in a surgical center, no sampling or sampling will be carried out since it is considered a finite population. The study method will be used will be the hypothetical deductive one, it is related to quantitative research, since it helps to determine the characteristics of a particular reality. For the collection of data, the survey technique and the questionnaire will be used as an instrument, through the reliability analysis using the instrument by Cronbach's Alpha, as a score 0.811 was obtained, thus taking a reliable instrument, to determine the reliability of the second instrument was applied the Kuder Richardson reliability coefficient test (KR-20), and the instrument gave as a result Kr20 = 0.73, which is considered reliable. For the processing and analysis of the data that will be obtained in the study, the SSPS Statistic V26 program will be used.

Resistance to the use of personal protective equipment in workers at the “Torres” carpentry shop, Carabayllo- 2021
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-09-26) Gabriel Mendoza, Leslie Mercedes; Fernández Rengifo, Werther Fernando
Individual safety clothing is a tool that protects different parts of the body, directly exposing workers to risk factors that can cause injuries and illnesses. Workplace accidents help reduce the severity of injuries, but there are different types and forms, each with its own purpose and use. Personal protective factors prevent the employee from being directly exposed to the risk agents exposed in the course of their work activities, even if it is proven that the worker does not use them. “Resistance to the use of personal protective equipment among workers at the “Torres” carpentry shop is one of the most common obstacles that we discovered in charge of advising and verifying the use of equipment. Rejection is caused by a variety of factors, such as annoyance, resistance to change, embarrassment or employee behavior, I don't know, I don't know or I can't. The verification of the practical, effective and reliable tool that can measure not only the worker's tolerance for protective equipment, but also the classification scale was carried out. All of these are very useful and important benefits to attack and reduce resistance, points for the greatest interests and occupational culture of local companies. It can strengthen safety and health to attack and reduce the level of opposition and thus strengthen the OSH culture.
