Ítem Acceso abierto (Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-05-09) Pecho Quito, Adrian Grégori; Garavito Chang, Enna LucilaThe purpose of this study was to determine the prosthetic needs of students aged 15 to 17 from I.E. 116 Abraham Valdelomar, located in the district of San Juan de Lurigancho, Lima, in 2017. A prospective, cross-sectional study was conducted, evaluating 159 students aged 15 to 17 from the fourth and fifth grades of secondary education. The chi-square test was used for result analysis. The findings showed that, out of 159 students examined, only 16.35% of those aged 15 to 17 required prosthetic treatment, while 83.65% did not. Prosthetic needs by age were 27.27% for 17-year-olds, 15.28% for 16-year-olds, and 13.85% for 15-year-olds (p > 0.05). By sex, 17.05% of females and 15.49% of males required prosthetic treatment (p > 0.05). The type of prosthetic need identified among students aged 15 to 17 was fixed prostheses in 100% of those requiring treatment. Regarding the location of the prosthetic need in the jaws, 50% required an upper fixed prosthesis, and the other 50% required a lower fixed prosthesis. No partial or total removable prostheses were needed (p ≤ 0.05). It was concluded that only 16.35% of students aged 15 to 17 required prosthetic treatment, and the type of prosthesis required was fixed prostheses in all cases.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness in the adhesion of three types of composite resins as an alternative for the repair of porcelain in fixed prostheses: a comparative in vitro study, Lima 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-11-06) Guzmán Lavado, Ivan Erasmo; Girano Castaños, Jorge AlbertoOral rehabilitation in fixed prosthesis treatments with metal-ceramic materials is widely used today, but these materials can fracture due to multiple factors. However, this situation does not always lead to replacement. Repairing porcelain with composite resin is an alternative with advantages such as easy handling and low cost. The main objective of this thesis was to determine the effectiveness of adhesion of three types of composite resins used as alternatives for repairing porcelain in fixed prostheses in Lima, 2019. This study was experimental, analytical, prospective, and cross-sectional. Feldspathic ceramic IPS CLASSIC V was used as the base material to evaluate the adhesion of three types of composite resins: Master Fill resin, Tetric N-Ceram resin, and Filtek Z350 XT resin. The microtensile bond strength (μTBS) was evaluated using a digital universal testing machine CMT-5L, LG, at a speed of 0.5 mm/min. The results showed that Filtek Z350 XT resin had the highest average adhesion level with 11.32% Mpa, Tetric N-Ceram resin achieved a regular level of 10.17%, and Master Fill resin showed the lowest level with 8.32% Mpa.Ítem Acceso abierto Evaluation of dimensional accuracy changes and marginal adaptation of models fabricated using 3D dental printers with fixed prosthesis structures: An in vitro study.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-06-14) Lazaro Prudencio, Jhenny Medalit; Gómez Carrión, Christian EstebanThe objective of this study was to evaluate the differences in dimensional accuracy and marginal fit of models produced using 3D dental printers for fixed prosthesis structures. The methodology used a hypothetical-deductive method with a quantitative approach, applied type, and in vitro experimental design. The sample consisted of 120 models (60 models for LCD printer) (60 models for SLA printer). Two types of 3D printers (LCD and SLA) and the Dental System software by 3Shape were employed to assess the marginal fit with the fixed prosthesis structure and the dimensional distortion of the printed models. The results showed significant differences in dimensional accuracy and marginal fit between the LCD and SLA printers for different dimensions of dental pieces. In the LCD printer, in the Cervico-Occlusal section 3.4, a dimensional accuracy of approximately 0.0439 ± 0.055 mm and a marginal fit of 0.147 ± 0.051 mm were recorded. In contrast, in the SLA printer, in the Mesio-Distal section 3.4, a dimensional accuracy of around 0.1162 ± 0.031 mm and a marginal fit of 0.110 ± 0.031 mm were obtained. In conclusion, there are notable variations in dimensional accuracy and marginal fit in models produced by 3D printers for the creation of dental fixed prostheses (p ≤ 0.05).
