Actividad anti-tirosinasa y efecto fotoprotector del extracto etanólico del tegumento de dos variedades de Phaseolus vulgaris L., ñuña roja y negra
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-12-01) Mera Santa Cruz, Ermitanio; Papuico Sanchez, Liliana Eulalia; Chávez Flores, Juana Elvira
The objective of this study was to determine the anti-tyrosinase activity and evaluate the photoprotective effect of the ethanolic extract from the tegument of two varieties of Phaseolus vulgaris L., red and black 'ñuña'. Methodology: Anti-tyrosinase activity was determined with the thin-layer chromatographic method using a 0.05% Kojic acid standard. For the photoprotective effect, 35 female Mus musculus Balb/C53 strain mice, seven weeks old, were divided into five experimental groups. UV-C radiation was applied to their backs for 30 minutes once a day for one month. Acute photodamage was evaluated using the Draize scale, and photoaging was evaluated using the Glogau scale. Results: Secondary metabolites such as polyphenols and flavonoids were found. The extract was not toxic in mice via oral and dermal administration at a limit dose of 5000 mg/kg. It has anti-tyrosinase activity, and when applied in a 5% gel, the red variety showed a greater effect. It also has a photoprotective effect in mice subjected to UVC radiation. Conclusion: The ethanolic extract from the tegument of the black 'ñuña' at 5% in gel has a photoprotective effect.

Nivel de conocimiento del cuidado de la piel y el uso de protectores solares en jóvenes de 18 a 25 años de una botica en eñ distrito de Independencia 2021
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-10-05) Gonzales Castañon, Alexandra Ximena; Huaracayo Campos, Carmen Irene; Cano Pérez, Carlos Alfredo
It is currently very important to know one's skin type to evaluate the effects of the sun on the skin and to know how to care for it. Objective: To determine the level of knowledge of skin care and the use of sunscreens in young people aged 18 to 25 from a drugstore in the Independencia district. Method: The research was hypothetical-deductive, basic, with a quantitative approach, and a non-experimental, descriptive, correlational, and cross-sectional design. Non-probabilistic convenience sampling was used, with a sample consisting of 223 young people. The instrument applied was a survey with questions about the level of knowledge of skin care and the use of sunscreens. Spearman's correlation was also used to test the hypothesis and measure the relationship. Results: Of the total young people surveyed, for those with a low level of knowledge (25.1%), 14.8% showed deficient use, 3.1% medium use, and 7.2% correct use. For those with a medium level of knowledge (41.7%), 13% showed deficient use, 8.5% medium use, and 20.2% correct use. For those with a high level of knowledge (33.2%), 5.4% showed deficient use, 4.5% medium use, and 23.3% correct use. Conclusions: A moderate correlation exists between the level of knowledge of skin care and the use of sunscreens, as well as between the sun protection factor (SPF), frequency of use, and frequency of application.
